Chapter one

Rae's POV

*ring ring*

I was sitting down in my basement bedroom, doing what every teenage girl these day seems to do. Read stories on their phones with music blasting, wishing to be the girl that the boys were falling in love with or sing about in their songs. When the phone started to ring.

"Hey Kay!" i said noing it was my closet friend.

"Sup.. you ready to start are first day of grade 11 year, Monday!" she said sounding excited and scared at the same time; and bored of the thought of going to classes already.

" Ah i can't believe we only have two years of school left...then we're free to do whatever!" i said.

" Omg i know! So i was wondering..wanna go for a drive or something!"

"yeah sure!" i said then we both hug up.

Me and Kay have been close ever since that first moment i walked into our morning kindergarten class. My parents asked me if i wanted to go into English like all the other kids or be a bit different and take French. I chose French. Living in Canada i was that one kid who wanted to make sure i could be able to talk to everyone if i wanted. I wanted to be special.

I remember my mom drove me the first couple days. The first time i walked into the room i saw another girl with darker blond hair and that dressed like me. She was also like me, taller then all the others. We became best of buds right then and there, Kay & Rae.

We did and still (kind of) do everything together. Always staying over at each others houses and seeing who was taller and who could do the best cart-wheel. When middle school came boys started to become a bit more interesting then before. In grade six i think we weren't in the same classes and half way through the year a new girl joined mine. Her name is Mo. Well no its not but that's what I call her. So i spent a lot of time with her.

In grade seven Kay got herself her first boyfriend. The one time we went to a movie she brought him. It was awkward. My parents were there too and it was the Hannah Montana movie. Haha. So i spent most of my time with Mo. I also ended up having the biggest crush on this guy named Mark who was in the grade above me.

He had curly hair and would always wear the same stripped hoody until his grade eight year came and he started to wear t-shirts.

In grade eight we took a trip to Quebec with all of are French class. Well except this guy that "got into trouble" (even though it was his friend not him) wasn't able to go. Which made me sad and frustrated. Everyone didn't care, they said that he's not the nicest boy around, but I always thought different, he was never mean to me. I considered him my guy friend in middle school. I ended up getting a crush on him but when he said he was quitting French and going to the English school on the west side of town i was a bit sad. That summer i went to go see him play a couple of lacrosse games. (i got to she him shirtless so i didn't mind)

When high school came around after grade eight, Kay made the basketball team and got another boyfriend who was in grade twelve, a whole three years older. So the only time we were together after school was when we went to this choir we additioned out for and got in.

Even though Im the older one out of use she got her drivers first. So now that she has that this whole last year its been easier to go out and just do stuff together. She also got a gob, but she just picks me up whenever she has free time.

"Rae are you read, I've texted you that Im out front probably around a dozen times. I'm guessing that I've been out there for 15-20 mins now!" Kay said poking her head through the front door seeing me just standing there zoned out staring at the carpet.

"Ah yeah sorry. For some reason i just started remembering all are past years and stuff."

She smiled at me and we both started to giggle as we walked out of my house and down my front lawn to her bright yellow punch bug.
