Kay's POV

"okay.....yah....okay man, ill be at your place in 5. Be ready!"

I hug up after talking to Taylor, o.e of mine and Rae's close friend. Today Im picking her and a couple others, Shae and Mo and we are going out to run somethings we need to start getting Rae's part on its way.

Lucky for us she has been busy the last week and is going to be this week and has forgotten about the party idea. Its going to make this just that much more special for her and allows us to get everything done for Saturday.

We are inviting all are friends, friends of friends, other people she knows that we don't and some of are class mates. Me and my little bro have been putting together a party list of music i know she will dance to. (or whatever it is that are friends call dancing) I want it to be amazing! I want her to have a fun time.

Today we are going out to get decorations. But first some frozen yogurt to discuss what decorating to do.

"Well lets see. We know she likes the colors purple (not dark), light blue and lime green." Taylor said.

"Yeah! But i don't want just balloons and streamers. It was to look more grown up but still teen" there was a bit of silence as the three of them were giving me strange looks. " You know! She's turning 18. The age where your still a teen but your considered more mature!"

"Well we definitely can't have any sort of cloth. It would just get wrecked!" Shae finally said between spoon full of yogurt.

"yeah true..true! Me, mo and Taylor all agreeing with her.

"What would get wrecked? What you girls talking about over here?" a voice that i didn't quite recognized said behind me.

I turned around on my chair to see a face that i haven't seen in a while. "Calub? I haven't seen you in a while!"

"Yeah I've been busy...or trying to. Haha so what are you guys up too?"

We all looked at each other. Us girls weren't sure if we should tell Calub about the plans we where making for Rae's party.

Calub was in quite a bit of mine and Rae's classes. He and Rae were close, friends that would always be seen in the halls together. The got closer in grade 8 but his parents moved him to a different school. They stayed in touch for a while. They did some things together over the summer. But then he stopped talking. Wouldn't reply or call or ask to hangout any more. She told herself that he was busy. That he'll call or text apologizing that he hasn't been around to do anything or something. Then one night she got bored and had a lot going around in her mind. So she got on her bike and road it to this place where she goings and relaxes and to think.

When she got there she found him with this girl that she has seen walking around school but never got her name. Her bike fell out of her grip and made a bunch of noise as it hit the ground. She told me that he stud up and started to slowly jog towards her but she hopped back on her bike to go back home before he could say anything. For 2-3 weeks after that Calub sent her texts and left her messages. Week four she called him saying that whatever they had, even their friendship is finished. That if she saw him in a million years later it would be to soon.

Now here he is, right next to me.

"Kay i know how loyal you are as a friend to Rae. I should know because i didn't." Silence. None of us said anything. I didn't know what to. He was her closest thing to something and he broke her. I spent mouths after what happened trying to get her back. And i eventually did. " Hey are you planning a party for her. Her birthday is on Saturday!"

"You remember her birth date!" Taylor said in shock. I agreed with her as it kind of surprised me too.

" yeah. You guys don't know how awful i feel. She was a really..really close friend and i pushed her away. Badly! Anyway i would never forget her birthday. I guess Im not aloud to come though..right!?"

"ah.."

"I understand. If i was her Id never want me there ether!" he said interrupting me.

"No come! Maybe not right away! Give her time to enjoy herself...you know encase she still hates you!" Shae said.

"thanks...i guess" he replied " well ive got to go. I might she you Saturday!"

"whooo might?" i asked

"yeah, if you guys think i might ruin her birthday by showing up i might as well just stay away. I don't like seeing her hurt. Knowing that Im the one doing that kills me!" he said walking out of the door.

"well that was interesting!" Taylor said

" your telling me!" i replied looking back down at my note book full of party plans.
