                                                                        Diary Entry # 104- December 3rd

"Sorry I haven't been able to write. Busy moving to Illinois you know, 'cause of my dad. I really miss him. I get to Skype him every other day, but  when he doesn't, I freak out. All I know is that in another 4 weeks, I get to see him. Until then, it's just Spotie, Mom, and me.

Tomorrow is my first day of School. Uggggg!!!!!!! I DO NOT want to go. My life goal has been to be popular and have tons of friends. Now I need to start all over with my life. What if the kids at Ridgewood High don't like me? What if I don't get any friends? I wish I never moved here. I want my friends, my amazing boyfriend, and my 'ol man. My life is just screwed. Write in you later.

Carmen D."

Carmen closes her diary and tucks it back under her pillow. She sighs at her new room. It's small and cramped. It's definitely not enough for her seasonal decorations, her makeup, and her "YouTube shooting area" that she had in her old house. Carmen cleans up a bit and heads over to the hall for Dinner and Skype time with Dad.

"Hey dad. How are you? How's Iraq?" Carmen asks. "Not too desperate, don't cry; Not too desperate, don't cry." She reminded herself.

"Hey Pumpkin. Yeah, I'm fine. Things are messed up here. Don't you worry; Your 'ol man ain't going to give up already. Plus, I'm not fighting all the time. Jimmy's here with me, so I'm not alone. You excited for school?" Dad asks.

Carmen knew best. She couldn't lie to him. But, at the same time, her dad was going through a lot. She didn't want to burden him with her childish problems.

"Yeah, I'm excited. Can't wait to see my new school!" Carmen exclaimed. From the corner of her eye, she could see her mother, giving her a smile and thumbs-ups. She felt proud, almost encouraged by herself. Yeah, she was going to like her new school, and everyone was going to like her. She had nothing to worry about.

"See you dad. Talk to you Friday. Love you!"

"See you Pumpkin. Love you too."

End of chat.
