Chapter 3 - Mistaken

Rikka's PoV

"I'm home!" I shouted

"Welcome home dear." My mom looked up after drying her hands with her apron. "Oh we have a new face, is this your boyfriend?" Mom asked. She dragged Paje inside the living room and interrogated him about me. Shanon and I followed them inside.

"You know, what is your name again?" Mom asked.

"Mom he's Paje Lopper and he's not m.." I was cut of by the fact that my mom is too excited while talking to Paje like a proud parent. Though she mistook him as my boyfriend.

"Uhmm." Paje was planning on denying.

"Take care of my daughter." My mom held his hands. "Don't hurt her or you'll pay, you hear me." She warned.

"Mom! Stop embarrassing me. He's not my boyfriend, okay. He's just a friend of Shanon and that's it!"I yelled.

"So is he Shanon's boyfriend then?" My mom asked.

"Uhmm, still a no." Paje clarified.

"Sorry for misunderstanding, I'll take out some sweets I baked this morning." She winked at Paje like she prefer him for me.

"Don't mind her, unlike other parents my mom really wants me to have a boy friend." I waved my hand at my mom's way.

"Mistaken as a boyfriend ey. *laugh* This is epic, gonna post it now." Shanon teased Paje.

"Oh shut up." Paje rolled his eyes. "So you live here, huh?" He asked.

"Yes." I said with a duh? tone

" This is ackward to say but guys, I need to use the bathroom." Shanon blurted.

"It's at the end of the hallway to your right." I told her where she could find one. She stood up and went to the bathroom. Silence covered the room. Now this is what you call 'ackward'. I could hear the ticking of the clock with the place being so silent.

"Here you go sweety." She placed a plate full of sweets and three cold chocolate frappe at the center table. "Why are you two are alone? Where is Shanon?" She looked like a satisfied mom seing her daughter with her boyfriend. How many times do I have to clear this. We're not in a relationship. I want to tell her that but stopped. My mom's really hard headed. "Okay have fun." She winked at Paje and gave a meaningful look then left the room.

"Uhmm.." Paje mumbled.

"So when did you had your first boyfriend?" He asked. I didn't want to answer that so luckily Shanon entered the room. That was the most ackward five minutes of my life.

"Nevermind that." He backed out.

"Okay guys let's eat!" Shanon shouted as she saw a plate full of pastry.

My mom's sweets is the best. Shanon and I talked about different things while Paje was at the corner silently eating the pastry in his hand. After eating Paje was like itching to go home. At first Shanon didn't want to but after a while she let him go. We walked him out only at the gate.

"That friend of yours is a bit nice."I admitted.

"Yiee, she likes him!" She teased.

"What the heck!? Not him!" I replied like a teenager denying things. A chemistry between me and him is like combining chemicals you don't know. In the end they'll explode.

"Deny all you want." She laughed as she teased me again.

"I just came but I need to go home now." Shanon waved her hand.

"Okay. Thanks for dropping by. See you tomorrow." I waved her goodbye and closed the door.
