I rolled back and forth between the sheets and groaned as sunlight from an open window hit my eyelids. Rubbing them, I sat up and looked around and realized that I had no idea where I was. Next to me there was a girl with nothing on except for an oversized t-shirt. I jumped out of the bed quickly and quietly tiptoed into the bathroom. My boxers were on, but my pants and shirt from last night were lying on the floor somewhere in her bedroom. Looking into the mirror, I winced at the dark bags underneath my eyes. My stomach ached and my forehead felt like it was on fire. That could only mean one thing: hangover. I had never experienced a hangover before, and trust me when I say that it was an awful feeling.
It suddenly hit me that I had lost my virginity last night to a complete stranger. Even worse, after telling Clair that I wasn't ready for that sort of thing yet. I buried my face in my hands and mentally slapped myself until I realized that I had to get out of this house before the girl woke up. Unfortunately, that was easier said than done.
I finally mustered up the courage to go back into the room to grab my things after whispering a few prayers to myself for self health and safety. My plan was then to sneak out and run to the nearest bus stop so that I could head back to the dorm. Unfortunately, the wooden floor was creakier than it was when I ran into the bathroom. Three steps into the room and it sounded like I was stepping on rubber ducks. The girl snapped awake and looked straight at me. Her eyebrow rose and she looked almost confused.
"Spence, you're up so early. What time is it?" she asked, looking over to the alarm clock on her nightstand. It read 7:34. I just stood there with my mouth slightly open. She looked back over to me and frowned at my facial expression. "Do you remember what happened last night?" she asked me, almost reading my mind. I just stared at her face and tried to pull back memories of last nights occasions. I was crystal clear up to the point where I downed my third shot. Everything following that tiny glass of alchohol was a blur, except for the clear fact that we had sex. I noticed her face fall out of the corner of my eye, clearly depressed at the fact that I had no recollation of our time together. "Spencer... do you remember what happened last night?" she asked again more slowly. "... Between us?" she asked again, almost sounding heartbroken. I looked down to the floor and tried as hard as I could to at least recall her name. Unfortunately, my mind decided to go blank.
I felt a delicate hand on my shoulder and almost jumped when I realized that the girl was standing very close to me. "You know, maybe if I showed you a little bit of what happened last night, you'd remember," she suggested seductively, tracing her other hand around my bicep. I shook my head and jumped back. I was so disappointed in myself for letting it happen. What was I going to tell Clair? 'Sorry babe, but remember how I told you I didn't want us moving too fast? Yeah. I lost my virginity to another girl last night'. She would break up with me instantly and I knew it. The girl repeated herself again, but I shook my head and grabbed my clothes off the floor.
"Look," I said to her. "You seem really nice, and I'm so sorry to have complicated this situation, but I have a girlfriend. Last night I was just wasted. I've never been drunk like that before, and as painful as it is to say this, us being together is probably the largest mistake I have ever made". A tear dropped from her left eye before her expression turned from crestfallen to anger. Her glare pierced into my eyes and I couldn't seem to look away.
"Get the fuck out of my house," she whispered angrily. I stood there and sighed at what I had done. She waited a few seconds before she yelled, "I said get the fuck out of my house, asshole! I may have been the worst mistake you've ever made, but what makes you so fucking special? You're too good for me? Really?" she rolled her eyes and barked out a sharp fake laugh that sounded like pain escaping her body. "Now get out before I call the cops and tell them that you raped me". she growled icily. Before anything else was said, I belted out the front door and ran as far as my legs would take me.

I slammed the door to my dorm room behind my loudly and fell face forward into my bed.
"Hey man, are you okay?" I heard Kyle. I clenched my fists and released them a few times to calm myself down before talking.
"Honestly dude, not at all. I told Clair I wanted to take things slow and ended up sleeping with some random chick last night". I sat up and looked over to Kyle for some guidance.
"You can't tell her," he blurted out. I was shocked, but shook my head and fell back onto my pillow.
"Dude, I have to tell her. If I don't, that's lying. That would totally fuck up our relationship," I said, rolling onto my back and staring up at the ceiling fan. Kyle just made a noise that sounded like 'hmm'.
"Do what you want, man, but when she finds out, she's gonna be pissed. Like, super pissed". Kyle's voice faded out at the ending like he was almost disappointed in telling me what the result of last night's happenings would do to my relationship if I were to tell Clair.
"I know," I choked out.
"Are you sure you want to do this? Seriously?" he asked after a few seconds. The room had an uncomfortable silence for about a minute before he filled it again. "You know what, man? Sleep on it. Maybe your opinion will change overnight. All I know is that jumping to conclusions here and making yourself feel even more like shit right now is not going to make your life any easier," he sighed and scratched the back of his head before standing up and rolling out his shoulders a couple times. He looked back over to me for confirmation, but all I could do was lay there and try to clear my mind. "Dude, did you pay attention to a word I just said?" Kyle asked me with a tinge of annoyance in his voice. I looked over to him and nodded slowly with a blank face. He rolled his eyes and threw on a sweatshirt.
"Okay, whatever man. Just... don't do anything you're going to regret in the morning. Promise me that at least," Kyle begged.
"I promise," I replied exhaustedly. My head was pounding and the hangover was contributing even more to the migraine.
"Kay. I'm going to grab lunch. Want me to bring you back anything?" he asked while he walked over to his desk and grabbed his keys. I shook my head.
"If you can find a time machine to take me back to last night so I could change it all, I'll pay you back," I said sarcastically.
"I'll text you if I see one," he responded.
The room felt empty now that Kyle was gone and all I could think about was what Clair would say to me. I felt my cell phone vibrate in my pocket and pulled it out to see that I had three missed calls and two messages from Clair. Chucking my phone across the room, it hit the wall and the backing fell off. I was almost positive that the screen had cracked on impact, but closed my eyes and shut out the thought before I could even care enough to worry about it.
The only think I could worry about was my relationship and how I would no longer have one to worry about in the morning.
