Extended Summary:

EVELYN RAVANGER lived the past four years of her life on the run and in constant fear of Alpha Crane for a crime he believed she committed. Not only was he responsible for the death of her mother, but he was a cruel man who knocked her down and destroyed her physically and emotionally.

Evelyn thought that escaping would bring her happiness, but she's no freer now than she was as Alpha Crane's prisoner. Everywhere she goes, Crane sends men after her, and each time she has to relocate. When she settles into a small town and the attacks against her come to a standstill, she thinks that she's finally free to lead a normal life.

That is, until she's randomly targeted and dragged back to the very place she knows will be worse than death. She's prepared for the cruelest punishment imaginable. Yet, to her surprise, Alpha Crane is no longer in charge, and in his place is a new Alpha-Glayde Burkov.

GLAYDE BURKOV was the weakest wolf of his pack. With great will and determination, he worked his way up to Alpha status despite the protests of many other werewolves. They think that with rogue wolves rising up against the packs his reign will be the beginning of their end, and he's dead set on proving them wrong.

He tracks Evelyn down because he thinks she is the key to helping him protect packs all over. Evelyn is defiant, yet her physical and emotional endurance and quick wit has Glayde growing a soft spot for her. But, he also knows that she is lethal-and he won't hesitate to take her out if he needs to.
