She was like a dead star whose shine was fused, and all the glory that came up with it, halted at once. And like the dead star society compared her with, worsened her situation with their hurtful words, unknowingly, killing someone more who was already dead. Like a dead star, she lost her shine, her importance, and her beauty when she fused. However, unlike a dead star, there was hope for her, a hope that she could be revived and given back her shine. In her trauma, he was the only one who knew it, and he vowed to ignite that shine within her once again.

A Glimmer of a Star;

"She was such an intelligent student... She had it all, and the ability to do anything with a brain like hers. It's a pity what she has become."

"Did you hear? The straight A, scholar student [Name] [Surname] was found drunk and fainted near the alley of trash the other day?"

"Really? No joke?"
"Nope."
"I always knew she was a mask of fake neutrality, and fake intelligence. That's what she gets for trying to belittle me, that stupid bitch. You know I bet you she cheated on her tests. She was always on her phone..."

"Did you hear? [Name] [Surname] cheated on her test because like, she was always on her phone. I knew she was a fake! She was probably found in her condition like that due to the guilt of cheating and entering one of the most prestigious universities through cheating. That ungrateful thot."

"Did you know she cheated her way through the university? I knew it! No way a poor person like her can be intelligent. Once a peasant, always a peasant. That cheater!"

Cheater
Cheater
You cheater
You disgrace
Do you have no regret?
No guilt?
You DISGRACE!
LIAR!
FAKER!
And *SLAP*

The entire group of students that stood outside the staff room went silent, their eyes widening impossible huge as they observed the scene play out before them in silence. [Name]'s eyes widened as she stared at the floor before her with impossible huge eyes, as her glasses went skidding down on the floor she stared at. Her cheek stung with red marks of four fingers imprinted on her skin, and her heart heavily hammering against her chest. She could feel her heart beat in every part of her, especially in her ears, which were filled with the heavy, fast, beating noise of her heart. The silence that was evoked when a hand hit viciously against her delicate skin, was deafening for her, as every part of her became slightly sweaty, and her fingers began to twitch, before they trembled.

The teacher before her, short and stubby, with an angry look on is face, began to talk once again.

"Did you cheat on the test?" The teacher barked, glaring at the girl before him. Although stunned before, [Name] did not budge from her spot, as she turned her head towards her teacher with her usual stoic face.

In a monotone voice, she answered, "No." This was a wrong move on her part because it resulted her with being slapped once again, the loudness of the slap audible to the entire floor which was utterly silent.

And once again, her teacher inquired, "Did you cheat on the test!?"

"No," She answered simply, and she was slapped once again.

This cycle continuously occurred and those who watched it, had different feelings about it. There were those who relished at the scene of watching [Name] getting beaten. There were those who pitied her. And there were those, who sympathized with her. One student that felt sympathy towards her was a black-haired male, slightly bulky with a stubby nose, named Bolin.

He watched with sorrowful, and scared eyes as the female before him repeatedly received punishment for something she did not do. He knew the truth about the accusations and rumors that flied through the school. He knew the entire truth, and he knew that she needed only one person to defend her, and prove her right in order for her to stop suffering.

And time after time, Bolin screamed at himself within his mind to tell them the truth about her situation.
All he had to do was interrupt the beating she received, and just utter words. He. Just. Had. To. Talk.

However, the male could not do so, because he stayed still, frozen in fear as he watched her getting slapped over and over again. Bolin was unable to utter anything because he was frozen by her eyes that were fixated onto him, the intense emptiness within her eyes haunting him, indirectly seeking for his help.

Bolin was unable to utter anything because he was frozen by her eyes that were fixated onto him, the intense emptiness within her eyes haunting him, indirectly seeking for his help.

But Bolin did nothing, and that is why, to this day, he regretted being a coward and blamed himself for the situation she was currently in. This situation was now, where he watched [Name] eat the instant noodles he had heated up for her, after he found her fainted in an alley. Unlike her attire in college, where she portrayed herself in a clean, professional way with her hair done neatly, and wearing office based outfits, her appearance was a mess. Her hair was scraggy, puffed like a bush, as her skin was flecked with dirt. She wore poor clothes which consisted of a dirty, wrinkly yellow shirt, brown shorts, with a green blanket draped around her form. This was because after the word got out of her cheating, all her sponsors withdrew the money they funded her for her education, and she lost her scholarships, as well as the apartment that she was given to her due to her scholarship. And now, the female resided on the streets because of a pathetic fake rumour.

Bolin watched her swallow one bowl of noodles after another with trembling hands. The male felt his heart drop in anguish before he opened his mouth to talk.

"Do you feel better?" He asked in a low voice. As soon as he spoke, the [H/C] female stopped eating, and glanced at him with her eyes that seemed to stare right into one's soul.

"I ate after a two days. What do you think?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at him, judging him for his nails. I'm kidding, she judged him for his idiotic question.

Bolin opened his mouth to reply, but he couldn't. Afterwards, the atmosphere around them was silent and uncomfortable, which led Bolin to break it by voicing his next question.

"I have solid evidence to prove that you are innocent, and my older brother is a Cop, which means that we can easily prove the university wrong. This won't only demolish their reputation for mistreating you, but it will also open up opportunities like never before. The only question is, do you want to go through it?" Bolin inquired, and instantly, the female before him stopped again.

Slowly, with her scraggy hair shadowing her eyes, she glanced at him with impossibly enormous eyes, and for once, there was emotion within her emotionless, haunting eyes.

This emotion caused Bolin's eyes to widen, because this one minute emotion changed her entire aura. It caused Bolin's cheeks to turn red, as his heart began to beat faster. This was because despite how horrendous her outer appearance was, this emotion within her eyes made her look like an innocent adorable child, who was the ugliest out of them all, but also the cutest due it's ugliness and innocence.

Bolin was absolutely transfixed by the emotion within her eyes because the emotion within her eyes, for him was ever so bright.

It was a bright glimmer. A bright glimmer of hope. A bright glimmer of hope that one had when everything was about to become perfect for them. It was a bright glimmer of a new born star, and right then and there, Bolin knew that he yearned to see that glimmer more.

His heart went into a further frenzy when with the new odd softness in her voice, he noted that wasn't there before, she answered his previous question with a, "yes."
