The air is warmer now, I'm inside. Apart from the waitress and the cook, I'm the only here. The room is big, consisting of a long counter with barstools, about 10. There are small tables and chairs scattered around the room. Above each table are tiny lights that give off less light than my phone would on full brightness. I feel better now.

The waitress comes with my coffee. The small, coffee-coloured bubbles created from stirring are still swirling. I watch them till they stop. I can hear whispering coming from the kitchen. I look up, it stops and work starts again.

A loud man’s voice starts from outside and the bell on the door starts to ring as it is opened. Smiles and talking arise from all three of them. I don't know what they are saying. I wish they shut up.

I pick up the cup. I don't want to drink it but it would be a shame to let it go to waste. I don't taste anything, I just drink. And drink, and drink. I thought the cup would never end, I throw some money on the counter and just about run out of the cafe. It's almost like the room was filling to the roof of Carbon Dioxide and I was the only one who wanted to stay alive.

Cars and buses rush past me. I start walking. I get about 2 blocks away from the cafe and realise about my phone. I can call someone. Who the hell would come pick me up though?

I call James. He'll help me.

Phone: * ring, ring, ring *

James: Yello

Me: Hey babe

James: Haaaaay hun, how you been? How your brothers girl? Word on the street is that they got in some trouble last night, yeah?

Me: I'm good. I need your help. You got your license back yet?

James: Um, yeah, why? What is wrong?

Me: Can you come get me, I'll text you the address

James: Um, ok, but you have to explain everything when we are together.

I hang up, and then text him. James takes 15 minutes. I can count on him for anything.

I get in his car. It’s different to what I remember, everything is going to be different now.

James leans over, kisses me on the check and drives off.

James: So where we going pretty lady?

Me: I don’t know, what are you meant to be doing today?

James: I do whatever I want hun, what’s up, your acting like you don’t know anything about me?

Me: It’s nothing, just take me where I can forget about everything.

James: Ok, I know a place.
