Chapter 3 | Roommate Bonding
"Tell me a bit more about yourself," Joe tried starting a conversation, whilst he sat on my bed.
"Umm.. Let's see.. There isn't really a lot to say," I laughed.
"Now that's a complete and utter lie," he laughed, "Ok puppies or kittens?"
"Mmm.. Puppies," I grinned. "I used to have a puppy.." I shook that thought away quickly "What about you?"
"Kittens," he raised his hand guilty, "Sorry, dogs scare me," he laughed.
I giggled back, "Aww.. Well, if it's means anything.. I'm scared of birds?" I tried to input more.
"Really!? Birds!?" He laughed more.
"Oi! No teasing," I laughed back.
"Alright alright," he raised both hands now, "Say.. Where are you from? Cause your accent leads me to believe you are... Australian..?" His voice shifted up to a higher pitch by end of the sentence, squinting one of his eyes and raising an eyebrow.
"Very impressive Mr Sugg." I smirked, continuing to unpack my belongings.
"Wow then what? Like a 20 hour flight?" His eyes widened. I sighed and nodded, it WAS quite a tiring flight.
"I went to Australia recently," he breathed, "I looove Australians!"
My cheeks grew pink.
No. He meant all Australians.. Not just you.
"Did you come to see me on my tour?" He asked politely.
"Actually no," I laughed, "I live in Perth so.."
"Oh right sorry, I didn't get to choose where, they scheduled me to places and I just go," he looked away.
Ahh.. He must feel guilty.. Now I felt bad.
"Its fine you know!" I tried to lighten the as atmosphere, "No one comes to Perth.." I gave an awkward but genuine laugh.
"Ok! Next year.. Perth I go! Thennn you could show me around!" He grinned at me.
"Ok.. Continuing the game.. Favourittee... Food?" I asked him.
"Nandoooss," he replied almost immediately.
I laughed at that, his expression brightened whenever he answered a question.
He checked the time on his watch. "Ahh crap, I have to go prepare a video," he stood up, straightening up his shirt. "Sorry.."
"Don't apologize!" I laughed, "Hey, a YouTubers gotta do, what a YouTubers gotta do." I grinned..
But really.. I was kinda sad to see him go.
