I wish I could just take a gentle walk,
Or leave quite suddenly, unlike before,
And yes, forget the restless, racing clock.
I'll quietly stroll 'round and 'round the block,
Then choose a random street, cross two or more.
I wish I could just take a gentle walk,
Follow the smell of sea, go to the dock,
Hop on a ship, land on an ochre shore,
And yes, forget the restless, racing clock.
The land of swirling spires, of strangest talk,
I will then discover, delve in, explore.
I wish I could just take a gentle walk,
Or climb up great edifices who mock
The world. I'll dream, while silver rains shall pour,
And yes, forget the restless, racing clock.
I'll drift up to the clouds, follow a flock,
Of swift cirri, and sing just like before.
I wish I could just take a gentle walk,
And yes, forget the restless, racing clock.
