Jeric

Thursday. Another game day for the Tigers. This time, team ng kapatid kong si Jeron ang makakalaban namin. Our parents are here to support the both of us. Pero siyempre, para fair, umupo si dad sa side ng Archers, while mom sat on our side. Ganun din yung sisters namin. Almira would be with mom, while Alyssa will be with dad.

“Teng.” Tawag ni Forts.

“What?” tanong ko while stretching.

He shook his head habang nakangiti na parang ewan. “Wala. Ipag-patuloy mo lang yan.”

Napakunot noo ako. “Ang alin?”

“Ang pagiging inspired mo.” Singit ni Kevin.

What are they talking about?

“Ilang araw ka ng inspired Teng.” Sabi ni Aljon. “I-share mo naman sa amin kung anong nangyari sa’yo at ganyan ang mga ngiti mo.”

Naka-ngiti ba ako?

“Ha? Bakit?” I asked. “Anong meron sa ngiti ko?”

“Ano nga ba Teng?” tanong ni Forts.

“Sus! Dahil yata yan dun sa isang photo exhibit eh!” sabi ni Melo. “Narinig ko na featured dun yung winning shot mo nung last game.”

Ewan ko ba pero nung pina-alala sa akin yun ni Melo, napa-ngiti ako.

I never thought na makikita ko ang sarili ko sa isang photo exhibit, not that I’m not interested with photography, it’s just that, I don’t have time for it. But nung Saturday, napilitan na akong samahan si Almira. And I guess I was destined to be in that event.

“Late na tayo.” Kumento ni Almira. “Tara na bilis! Nandun na sa loob sina Kate.”

“Mauna ka na dun.” I told her. “I’ll just find a space para makapag-park.”

She nodded and went out the car. It took me a little while para maka-hanap ng lugar para makapag-park. After kong mai-pwesto ang sasakyan ko, I immediately followed Almira.

Pag-pasok ko pa lang, marami ng tao. But what’s weird was, yung iba, naka-tingin sa akin. As if I’m one of the special guests sa event.

Nag-simula na yung program. Kanina pa yata nag-sasalita yung emcee. I noticed na may ibang nakapaligid malapit sa stage at nakikinig sa kanila, mostly may edad na.

“Ahia!” I heard Almira’s voice.

I looked back and saw her with her friend,Kate. I made my way to them. I spotted familiar faces din around. Siguro hindi ganun ka-tanda yung gumawa ng exhibit na to. Seems like college students yung most of the guests.

“OMG Ahia! I really can’t believe it!” sabi ni Almira.

Kumunot ang noo ko. “Can’t believe with what?”

“May photo ka dito.” She said.

“Photo?” I mumbled.

“I guess you better check it out your own.” Singit ni Kate as she pointed the way. “Nasa end corner dun. Hanapin mo nalang. Makikita mo yun agad for sure. Yun yung pinaka-makaling photo dun.”

I looked at them. “I’ll check it.”

I made my way to the side na tinuro ni Kate. Pero every photo stand, tumitigil ako para tinginan yun photos.

I noticed na walang specific subject yung photographer. I mean, random lang yung photos niya, pero yung captions niya were striking enough to capture my attention.
