I walk a couple meters from the house, on dry, cracked ground that crumbles under my feet, when suddenly, there is an almighty crash. The force of it hits me, and I'm knocked to the ground, my ears buzzing.
Eventually, I push myself up on aching arms, looking back to see an inferno, waves of fire surge across the ground that is littered with bits of brick, plaster and sharp glass. " I guess I'm not going back that way," I say both to myself and the bare landscape.
Slowly, the fire begins to consume the debris and quickly eat up the sun baked land, after watching for a few moments I set off running, clearly not wanting to be here when it reaches the space.

"Ugh" I groan, my throat parched, my tounge cracking. I've spent the last 4 or was it 5 hours looking for water but it seems that in this dry, unforgiving landscape moisture is a rare thing.
" What is that?," I say as I speak aloud my confusion, "No I can't be, can it?"
Ahead of me is a shimmering pool filled with enough water to last me a lifetime, my mouth waters at the sight of it, but surely it's just a mirage, a trick of the mind. Yet it looks so close, so refreshing. "I'm going, I have to, I've got to at least know if it's there." So having made my decision I run and run both doubt and greed racing through my mind. And finally I arrive, plunging my hands in to the delicious, refreshing(hopefully not solid rock).
