"The warrior JewelBlade was the first of her kind," Angel recapped. The lessons continued every day, and Jade's mind was buzzing with every moment that passed.

"Does that mean others like her existed after her?" Jade piped up, scanning the words Angel had written on the board. Spark colors were among them.

Blue, violet, amber, white . . . Red.

"Many Cybertronians have existed since we have come to be. And as a result, we have recorded different colors of sparks." Angel continued her lecture, ignoring Jade's inquiry, the answer would come soon enough. "Blue sparks are the most common. Cybertronians who've had this shade of spark include the Primes, Arcee, Elita-1, even most Decepticons kept this color inside their upper chassis.

"White sparks belong to the techno-organic race." Sliding her plating aside, Angel exposed the white glow that pulsed inside her chest. "As a hybrid mix, you two hold a pale blue spark in your chests." Angel knew quite well what color resided inside the children. She'd been there for them so long, it was impossible not to.

"Red sparks belong to those who have been corrupted. The warlord Megatron had a red spark once. For quite some time it was the brightest red we'd seen. At one point, JewelBlade herself had nearly driven her weapon straight through it."

Jade's eyes widened. "Then-."

Angel continued, holding up her finger to silence the girl. The children had learned about sparks before, but had never gone into the depth of different colors. "Amber sparks are ones that have been created. While rare, they have existed . . ." Angel paused, her eyes staring off into the distance for a moment. "And it was a dangerous experiment, indeed. Few still exist today. Those that were spared became some of our greatest allies.

"And violet sparks . . . That spark color belonged solely to JewelBlade. She was the only one of her kind."

"You . . . You said was . . ." Jade pointed out cautiously. "I thought she was still alive."

Angel laughed softly. "Oh, she is. My apologies, Dear. But she was not alone for too long. The Decepticons mirrored the process that caused her to come into existence, creating another hybrid of sorts. Not one that had a simple melding of colors like the pale blue you carry, but one that had veins of both amber and purple shifting inside their sparks.

"You see, JewelBlade's spark was a converted spark. Which means that she was not born in our world. JewelBlade was born a human, and voluntarily became an Autobot, a Cybertronian, and fought for our cause. The only stutter was that the Decepticons eventually pinpointed her origins, and attempted to raise an army of their own, using her spark as the baseline."

Scarlett lay in her bed, staring at the images on her ceiling. Across the textured surface were stars, planets, galaxies. She could pinpoint Cybertron in a sparkbeat, even if it was insignificant to the untrained eye.

With a deep breath, she thought of all the things that Angel had said today.

A converted spark. JewelBlade, the warrior, the spy, had been born a human.

JewelBlade didn't quite fit into either world.

JewelBlade was like her.

It was amazing and stunning at the same time.

It was also incredibly confusing. From what she'd learned, JewelBlade had been quite close with the last Prime, her other main inspiration.

But how could a human-turned-Cybertronian be that close to the Prime? The Prime had become great through effort and determination and . . .
