Stacey stared in the mirror and sighed as she cleaned off some of the smeared out make up, giving a sad smile, remembering how Zeke said she looked pretty. She closed her eyes, tears, salty ones running down her check, trying to contain a sob. Trying to cope with the pain, knowing it’s next to impossible to do so. Knowing it’s next to impossible to cope with the pain that always bit her whole body, filling her with toxic, filling her with hate towards herself.

She punched the mirror, letting the pieces break against her knuckles, smashing just another mirror. The pain stung but it just didn’t help. It didn’t take away the inner pain she always felt. The pain of feeling that you never quite manage what you and others want you to do. How she wanted that pain away, even for just a little while. That’s why she started drugs in the first place, right? To get rid of it. never seemed to quite work. Just didn’t work how she wanted it to do.

She sat down, letting her hand slide over the wall, supporting herself against the wall as she sat down, pulling up her knees to her cheek, tears flowing, because of all the self-loathing, wanting to be perfect. Nothing more. Just to be perfect and free from the pain. Was that too much to ask for? That someone could take away that awful pain?

Pulling herself up, she took his t-shirt and wiped her tears, looking at herself in the mirror, just staring, still feeling just as ugly as she always did. She sighed and walked out of the bathroom, walking to the bedroom, about to lie down, when she saw a note. She didn’t pick it up, she could read it perfectly from where she was standing.

She sat down on the bed, letting her fingers slide over the paper. ‘It’s okay not to be okay.’  She smiled softly, sadly, but softly, laying down, closing her eyes. Soon she felt him wrap his arms around her, just holding her in his arms.
