Destiny (Sequel to Sun Wolf)

Ch. 8

I watched the pups as they played around. Falcon was sitting by Sapphire, StarFlower along with Junior and a few other pups from Snowstorm and Sunshine's pack were tossing a small stick to each other, Amber was sitting by Blizzard, and Rockie was trying to get Asher to wrestle with him. Eventually, he wrestled with two other pups.

"Hey," CloudClaw said, making me jump.

"Hey, Cloud," I said as she sat down by me, giggling.

"I scared you didn't I?" she asked.

"No...you just caught me off guard," I replied.

CloudClaw playfully rolled her eyes.

"What's up?" I asked.

-Sapphire's POV-

"Sapphire, can I ask you something?" Falcon asked me.

"Of course," I replied.

"Um, nevermind," Falcon said.

I was confused, but shrugged it off. Before we could continue talking, Rockie howled our gathering call. Falcon and I looked at each other, then went to our gathering spot. It was a hidden patch of grass surrounded by bushes, which is why we called it Deep Bush.

"What's up, Rockie?" StarFlower asked.

"I called you all here today," Rockie began professionally, "to tell you..."

He paused for a minute.

"That, um, we're going to play a game of hide and seek," he finished.

"I'm great at that game!" Junior exclaimed.

"So long as no one messes up my fur," Blizzard said.

"Why not?" I replied.

"Sure," Falcon said casually.

Something moved in the bushes. Everyone froze and looked at each other. No one was missing.

"Make any sound and we'll kill you instantly," a voice whispered as six black wolves crept out of the bushes.

Everyone except Falcon slowly back up to the center, frightened. Falcon did something that surprised me.

-Falcon's POV-

"Back off!" I exclaimed.

The mean wolves just laughed.

"Ignorant pup," the one with a scar going through his eye growled.

He then picked me up and bit down on the back of my neck really hard, causing my to yip in pain. The other wolves picked up my family and friends, then carried them out.

"Let them go! Take me instead!" I said.

The wolf holding me bit down harder and I fell silent from the pain. He dropped me and left.

I got to get mom and dad, I thought as I ran out.

"Mom! Dad!" I cried.

-SolarFlare's POV-

Falcon came running out from their gathering spot. A deep bite mark was bleeding from the back of his neck.

"Falcon! What is it?" Comet asked worriedly as Frost came out from their cave.

"All the others have been pup-napped!" Falcon exclaimed.

"I bet it was those no-good black wolves," CloudClaw said.

"I'm going to find them," I said, standing up.

"Hold on, mom. I'm coming with you. Galaxy and Asteroid, you guys come, too," Comet said.
