AN: This is a Thanksgiving 2015 chapter. I know it's late, but I hope you enjoy anyway.

SolarFlare's POV
The autumn sun rose above the mountains. A morning wind was blowing softly outside. I thought I heard a soft whisper, saying, "The Fire in the Ashgrove." I shook my head and focused on the day ahead. (Ashgrove13 )

Today is Pack Day, where most packs exchange stories and share food. I got up and stretched, then went outside. We were with Snowstorm and Sunshine's pack. This year, all the females hunted in the morning and all the males in the evening.

"We're leaving in five minutes," my best friend, Cloud Claw, said as she came up to me.

"Come on. I just got up," I replied with a yawn.

Cloud playfully tackled me.

"Hey!" I exclaimed.

Cloud Claw laughed and asked, "Did that wake you up?"

I rolled my eyes and replied, "Yep, so you better watch out!"

I shoved Cloud off and got up. We wrestled until Frost howled.

"Race you!" Cloud Claw exclaimed as she took off running.

I shook my head and chuckled, then ran after her.

We crouched low in the grass. An elk herd was grazing in the meadow peacefully. A large bull elk stood in the middle, scanning for threats like us. We quietly retreated into the woods.

"Here's the plan," Frost started, "we're gonna go for the big bull."

"I don't think that's a good idea, Frost," I warned.

"They boys did it last year and they had the same number as us," Frost replied.

"It was also a smaller bull," I added.

"We can do it," Frost said confidently.

I sighed. This may not end so well. We stealthily walked back to the bushes. The big bull was now walking around. When he passed us, Frost walked out, pretending not to be interested. The big bull knew better, though. He bellowed and sent all the females running. The rest of us ran out and stood beside Frost.

Now that I was closer, I could see that many other wolves had tried to take him down. The bull didn't run and we didn't attack; it was a standoff.

"Frost, this is a bad idea. Many wolves have tried to take down this bull before but failed. We need to rethink this," I said.

Out of nowhere, green fur flashed and a wolf appeared on the bull's back. The elk was sent into a frenzy; he jumped, bucked, and ran around, desperatly trying to shake the wolf off. The rest of us ran into the bushes and watched intently. Thinking that he scared us off, the elk dropped on the ground and rolled. The wolf jumped off just in time and went in for the kill.

All of us rushed in to join. Frost went up beside the wolf and bit down into the elk's neck. The rest of us kept the bull from getting up. Cloud Claw and I jumped on the bull's side while the others nipped at the belly and feet.
