Charlotte's Point of View:
I sneak out of my room, closing the door quietly before tip toeing down the stairs. The home I lived in was huge, sometimes I think it is just too big for 2 people but then I guess I am a lucky person. Most of my friends houses were quite small. But then they seemed average sized houses, it was just that mine was massive compared to theirs.
I look in the living room to make sure my dad wasn't asleep on the couch. He got drunk the majority of nights and passed out on the sofa. I was okay with that somehow. He cares for me is what matters. My dad lost his fiancé 18 years ago to a sleeping curse. He thought he had broken it but he hadn't. His fiancé is my mother. I had forced him to tell me the truth of what had happened to her when I was 12. I had learnt a lot since then, becoming more knowledgeable than those in my classes at school. I see that my dad had made it to his room, before closing the door and going to the basement to where my dad kept my mother. She was in a coffin for some reason...well it was my fathers coffin for when my uncle Klaus daggered him. I sadden before opening the coffin and seeing my mother's pale face. I brush my hand across her face softly.
I sigh and kiss her cheek, gazing at her beautiful features. I think I have her nose. My dad says I have her smile and laugh. I want to know, to believe what my dad says, but I will never find out while my mother lays in this coffin. I wipe my tears away before whispering, "I know you will wake up soon."
I close the coffin reluctantly before going upstairs back to bed.

Kol's Point of View:
"Charlotte! Breakfast is ready, eat before you are late for school!" I shout before setting her breakfast on the table, while preparing Charlotte's lunch.
I soon hear a thumping noise coming down the noise, "Coming, Dad!"
I smile hearing her voice, it is so comforting and always so happy, "All ready for your first day back to school?" I ask, giving her lunch.
Charlotte nods, "Yes I think so." She sat at the table before stuffing down the pancakes, "What have I got for lunch?"
"Pasta and...a few more pancakes. And an apple. Don't forget the healthy stuff." I joke with sarcasm. I had included an apple in her lunch but it was just funny that human foods were all separated in this way.
"I will see you later, dad. Be safe and careful. No doing anything stupid." Charlotte kissed my cheek and grabbed her bag.
I chuckle, "Isn't that meant to be what I say to you? Right, now have a good day at school and no messing around. I mean it." I try and be the stern father that I see every other child have but I am just no good at it. I look over at Charlotte and see that she is as red as a tomato. I sigh and shake my head, "Go to school. You are going to be late."
Charlotte smiled and left. I growled to myself and smashed the glass that I was holding. Why wouldn't she take me seriously? I need Elena back...I know I am going to lose it, and it will be sooner than I think.

Charlotte's Point of View:
I arrive at school before going to my locker and getting the books I needed for my first class, History. I already knew a lot of about history of course. I had my dad to tell me about everything that had happened. I was good at English as well, but I was failing math. I couldn't wait until I had Art class, it was something I didn't have to stress about. It calmed me down and allowed me to express my true feelings.
"Hey Lottie, are you coming to my party on friday?"
I suddenly turn towards my right, seeing my best friend Amelie, "I should be."
