Run.
Run.
I repeated that word in my head in a loop. I forced my legs to move, as fast as they could away from the shadows that were chasing me. I tripped, and landed, face first, on the floor. I tried to get up, but the shadows had already caught up, and had pinned me to the ground. I screamed as the daggers pierced my skin once again. I pushed them off, and pulled the daggers out but somehow, that only just pushed them deeper.
I groaned, and gave in to the pain, breathing heavily.
"Maybe it is a good thing you gave your life for your daughter's. But then, if you had given me your daughter like it should have been, she would be safe, and you wouldn't be here. You would be living happily ever after with my pathetic nephew."
I looked up from the ground, a dark shadow looming over me. Dahlia. Who else would it be?
Dahlia laughed, before turning around and walking away, "Enjoy."
The shadows crept closer, before lifting their daggers in the air, and plunging the into my skin.

I gasp, and sit up suddenly. I was breathing heavily, from my horridly vivid dream. I look to my left, and see a sleeping Kol, who obviously wasn't in the slightest, bothered by my dream. I was relieved to know that the nightmare wasn't real but it seemed like it was. I have never had a dream or nightmare so vivid.
I get out of bed, before checking on Charlotte, who was in a deep sleep. I smiled a little before going downstairs to the kitchen, and pouring myself a glass of bourbon. I didn't drink much, well not at all, but this was an exception. I downed the glass, closing my eyes shut feeling it burn my throat. I wasn't one to drink, and I certainly wasn't used to it. I hope it didn't become a habit, now that I am having these nightmares.
I sighed, leaning against the counter, and taking a few deep breaths. It was still dark, and I should really be sleeping but I just couldn't. I wanted to wake Kol, but he was sleeping, and it wouldn't be fair on him. I sighed, and set my glass down, before going back up to my room, and lying on the bed beside Kol. Kol stirred, and I froze not wanting to wake him up. I let out a small breath and turn on my left to face him. He seemed so peaceful, so delicate but inside, he was the same however he had this other side that scared so many others. He was only ever nice to me and Charlotte, and occasionally his siblings.
"You're staring." Kol murmured sleepily.
My eyes widen in shock, "Gazing."
"What are you thinking?" Kol kept his eyes closed, while turning to face me.
"Nothing, now sleep." I smile a little and press a soft kiss to his cheek.
Kol smiled before holding his arms out, "I could say the same to you, darling."
I rolled my eyes, and cuddle into him, wrapping my arm around him.
"Don't roll your eyes at me, love. Now get some sleep." Kol wrapped his arms around my small body where I felt safe. It had been forever since this had happened.
I rolled my eyes again, before closing them and letting myself fall asleep, forgetting about any potential nightmares that were about to enter my mind.
--
"Your mother is sleeping, Charlotte. Can't you go shopping later on, when she's awake?" I hear Kol's voice as I wake up.
"No I can't. Beside Mom is waking up now." Charlotte's voice soon followed.
I slowly opened my eyes, "Shopping sounds fun."
