The Surprise

Sa Barangay Bayanihan dumating na si Jose, Maine, Wally at Paolo. Very busy ang lahat sa pag makeup at pagbabasa ng script guide para sa Kalyeserye...

Like Alden requested, Jose gave Alden's gift first thing in the morning... "Meng, pinapaabot ni Alden, eto." he said as he handed Maine an envelope.

"Anu po ito Kuya Jose?"

"Aba ewan ko?" Jose teased with a grin, "Basta pinapabigay niya...sa inyo na yan!"

Inside the envelope is a note that says:

Surprise! Call this number after your schedule, my driver will pick you up and take you to your surprise.

Maine smiled as she read the note...Alden must have planned a huge surprise later. She felt nervous and excited, Ano kaya ang surprise?, she thought.

That afternoon...

"Ano Maine...ready ka na umuwi?", asked her manager.

"Umm di pa po. Actually, may lakad ako mamaya." Maine replied.

"Aba, ang alam ko eto na last schedule mo, meron ba akong nakalimutan?"

"Wala naman po, pero may surprise sakin si Alden, tawagan ko raw yung driver niya."

"Ahhh kaya pala. Si Alden nanaman ha? Di ba nga sinabihan na kita na wag masyadong magpaniwala sa mga aktor?"

"May surprise sakin yung ka-love team ko, babaliwalain ko lang ba? Tsaka team po kami, di siya gaya ng ibang lalaki. Kailangan ko naman din siya makilala sa labas ng trabaho, di ba?" Maine said defensively.

"May point ka pero ayokong masira yung career mo dahil sa lalaki, naguumpisa ka pa lang Maine."

"Pramis po, maaga akong uuwi. Saglit lang naman siguro ito."

"Ok sige...di rin naman kita mapipigilan. Basta text mo ako pag nakauwi ka na ok?"

"Opo, promise!" Maine said.

Maine called up Alden's driver and he drove her to the bayside of SM MOA. Maine was extra cautious of the public and wore a disguise, a floppy hat and sunglasses to hide her face. The driver instructed her to walk over the giant ferris wheel and there she will find her surprise.

She walked up to the ferris wheel and saw a tall man waving at her, he was wearing a hat and sunglasses like her, and on his left cheek, a dimple can be seen - it was no mistake, Alden was standing there waiting for her.

He led her into one of the ferris wheel carriage, without saying a word until the door was locked and they started to move up slowly.

"Na surprise ka ba Meng?" Alden said finally breaking the silence.

"Oo! Anong ginagawa mo dito? Diba dapat bukas ka pa uuwi?" Maine asked.

"Nakakuha ako ng earlier flight, kaya naisipan kong sorpresahin ka. Gusto ko rin sana magkausap tayo na walang istorbo."

"Bakit, sino bang istorbo?" Maine teased.

"Alam mo na, mga umaaligid sa atin, basta gusto ko for once tayo lang dalawa. Gusto ko malaman mo na napaka special mo sa akin. Kung pwede, please give me a chance to show you how much I care. Gusto kitang ligawan Meng, pwede naman di ba?" Alden asked.

Alden's sincere request, his heart warming stare that can melt your heart into a puddle. Maine felt the rush of excitement, her heart beating wildly as Alden held her hand tightly waiting for a reply.

"Yes, pwedeng pwede! Alam mo namang matagal na kitang crush eh. Di ako makapaniwalang gusto mo rin ako. Basta i-promise mo na pupunta ka sa bahay para mag-paalam sa tatay ko."

"Oo. Kelan mo gusto? Pwedeng mamaya na kung gusto mo eh?" Alden said with a laugh.

"Umm...wag naman mamaya, orient ko muna si tatay! I want to remember this moment, dito muna tayong dalawa." Maine said as she laid her head on Alden's shoulder.

"Sure. We can stay here for awhile." Alden replied, putting his arm around Maine's shoulder as they watched the Manila Bay sunset.
