Vincent
I felt this sharp pain in my chest. I felt like I couldn't breathe, like I was suffocating. My throat was so tight that I started to gasp for air. I clutch my chest and slowly start to slide down the wall. Trying to take deep breaths I feel a head lean against my shoulder and start to shake. Its then that I noticed Sammie sitting next to me. She is curled up into a little ball at my side crying. I can't help but think that she felt like home. Little Sammie. I wrapped my arm around her and pulled her in.
We sat together on the floor waiting. Waiting for the doctors to come and give us news. The more time passed the more my hope faded. I thought of never seeing, touching, talking, and telling Scottie that I love her was killing me. I don't know how I really ended up in this position but I know now that I have to fix it. I have to get my family together. I don't know when I stopped loving Scottie, deep down I don't ever think I really did. I've loved Scottie since we were in the fourth grade. I remember it like It was yesterday.
I was hanging upside down showing off my mad skills to some of the third grade girls when I hear some high pitch yelling. I summersault off the monkey bars and walk over towards where I heard the yelling. I make my way around the slide and see a group of boys in a circle. Must be some kind of fight. Making my way through the crowd I can see Ryan's baseball cap. Ryan is a fifth grader and also the schools bully. I personally never had a problem with him but have seen him pick on some small kid for something he wanted. I peek around him and saw the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She has her hand on her hip cocked to the side. Unlike most of the girls she isn't in some kind of ruffled dress, she is wearing jeans and red chucks. My eyes slowly drift up pass her blue and white striped shirt. Her hair was blowing around. It was the color of honey, she kept having to pull her hair from her face. When she was able to get in managed I was able to got a glance at her eyes. I never thought brown eyes were beautiful. I always thought they looked like poop but hers...hers were amazing. It was as if they were the color of the riches chocolate brown ice cream with swirls of caramel in them. I would take another glance and they looked like they were the color of honey. I was addicted. Moans broke me out of my love sick trance. I then noticed the nerd boy on the ground. His eye was already starting to swell shut. He also didn't have any shoes on. why doesn't he have shoes on? My eyes flick to Ryan's hands sure enough in his hands are a pair of some black and red Jordans.
"I'm only going to say this once. Give. Him. Back. His Shoes." My little feisty kitten started to stalk towards Ryan. She wasn't tall by any means but she stood toe to toe with the school bully. She was a gutsy little thing.
"What are you going to do Scottie? You going to go tell your momma? Oh I forgot you don't go no momma do you?"
"Nobody talks about my momma!" Without any hesitation a tiny fist of fury hit Ryan right in the nose. She might be the size of a garden gnome but she sure packed a punch. Ryan covered his face leaning forward while blood gushed into his hands. I fell in love instantly. Before I can confess my undying love to her I saw her swing her leg back and kick right in the balls.
Ryan fell to his knees and started to cry. My throat tightened I can only imagine the pain he was in now. This girl went balls to the wall, I was in love. She walked up him and bent down to get right in his face "Nobody. I mean Nobody ever talks about my momma. She was an angel! If I see you ever pick on someone again I won't be afraid to punch you again." She grabbed the shoes and helped nerd boy put them back on. With her arms around his shoulders they walked to the school. That was the moment I knew I would marry Scottie. She was officially the girl of my dreams. Screw Mariah Carey she had nothing on my little kitten.
I was in love. I couldn't think about anything but her the rest of the day. I ran home I needed advice. I dropped on my on the floor and ran up the stairs. I can hear giggling coming from the room I usually don't interrupt but this was an emergency. This was life or death. I couldn't live without Scottie St. Claire.
