Brooke’s POV
Cat, Zayn, and I were back in Zayn’s apartment and we finished up putting all of the furniture in place.
I have to say that I was really impressed by our home decorating skills because I didn’t think we were going to pull this off. Needless to say I have never decorated someone else’s house or painted a wall.
Austin Mahone’s Say Your Just A Friend went off and my phone started vibrating on the newly placed granite counter and I immediately grabbed it.
Emily: OMG! BROOKLYN YOU WON’T BELIEVE IT! PLEASE CALL ME BACK ASAP!
I read the message with a confused look but called Emily anyways.
“Hey Em. What’s up?” I asked as soon as she picked up.
“OMG! BROOKE! Your brother just told me where we are moving and you won’t believe it!” Emily squealed and I heard her hopping back and forth in the background.
“Um…. New York?” I blankly guess because I knew she would tell me anyways.
“No silly! I’m MOVING TO KENTUCKY!!!” Em practically screamed and I moved my phone away from my ear.
Em had a life-long dream of moving to Kentucky to try and pursue a career in country music but living in Hawaii (A/N: Yes, I’m not stupid. I know Nashville, Tennessee is the country capitol but I like Kentucky better so.. Yup! Also, I forgot if I said they were in Hawaii or not… But if I did then ignore this) sort of stunted her plans a little….
“Oh my god! Em that’s awesome!” I cheered enthusiastically, giggling at the same time since my brother always had this thing for horses so moving to Kentucky was also a bonus trip for him. Oh Parker…..
After a few more minutes of conversation my phone beeped signaling another call.
“Hey Em, sorry I’ve got to run. Talk soon ok?” I promised, hanging up.
“What’s the plan for the day?” Cat walked into the room with Zayn trailing behind her.
“Are you serious right now?” Zayn and I said almost simultaneously.
“Yes! I’m very serious. My boyfriend is off with his best friend so I need to do things to prove to myself that I have a life aside from my boyfriend.” She ranted, pacing back and forth.
“Hey! Stop that! You’re going to leave an indentation in my new flooring!” Zayn whined, bumping Cat onto the couch.
“Well I have an idea that may involve a little bit of shopping!” I winked, picking up my purse.

A few hours later we found ourselves at a rescue shelter and we were looking at all of the dogs.
“Ooh! What about that one?” Cat squealed, pointing to a border collie called Fetch.
“Nah. Too energetic. I want something smaller and calmer.” Zayn rejected, still giving the dog a pat on the head.
“What about Simba?” I asked, laughing at the name and pointing to a little Pomeranian.
“Wow! He’s cute. But I think he may need a name change.” Zayn frowned at the chart he was peering at.
“Something wrong?” I frowned, trying to look at the chart.
“Nothing. Nothing at all. He’s perfect.” Zayn said with a grin, pulling his wallet out of his pocket.

A trip to the pet store later, Zayn, Cat, Scout, and I all walked into Zayn’s apartment to set up the crate, toys, and food.
“BEST IDEA EVER!” Cat giggled, playing with Scout‘s new navy blue collar.
“What would I do without you guys?” Zayn asked, putting the food into a cabinet to the right of the sink and placing the food and water dishes on a brand new bowl rack on the ground near the sliding glass door that led to the balcony.
“Do I look like I know?” I questioned with a giggle, throwing a ton of toys into a cute little box and putting it and the fluffy bed in the corner by the couch.
“Well thanks guys! I know who I can truly trust.” Zayn said with a smile.
“No problem! You’re one of my best friends and it’s been hard for all of us.” I responded with a smile.
