Nela's POV

That was the worst night ever, not only did my mate had mixed feels, he was a total asshole. I felt so hurt, like I was rejected. A tear trailed down my face but I wiped it fast for Kim to don't spot it, I don't want to give her my stress.Why did he say those things, I just couldn't wrap my head around it. Well you know what, my dear moon goddess you made mistake. And Kim was driving me home right now, so mom and dad might bombard me with question so I was going to have to come up with something.

The trip was filled with awkward silents between Kim and me for a while. Every now and then, Kim would give a quick glance before returning her eyes on the road, and it was driving me crazy.

"If you want to ask a question, just ask," I spoke out when she gave me another glance.

"Okay then, that was your mate?" She fired at me. "So why did you ran from him? Who is he? And what did he do?"

"Well," I started unsure what to see, but Kim is my best friend I knew her since pre-school so I should just say it. "Yes, that was my mate. His name is Derek his an Alpha and he wanted me to come to his territory."

"Then why did you run, you could have been a Luna, living the dream." Kim said trying to brighten the mood.

"More like a nightmare, Kim you haven't even heard the full story yet," I groaned. "He said his wolf wanted me and not him. I felt like me heart was crush into a million pieces."

"Oh girl... I'm so sorry." Kim apologised, what was she sorry for? It wasn't her fault. Then I saw her hold on the wheel tighten. "Want me to turn back there, so I can kick his ass!"

"No! No." I scream then broke out in laughter. I needed that, I could have already felt myself getting better, I am so lucky to have a friend like her. "Right now, let's just get home, I need a good run."

Kim dropped me off home and told her I would meet her at school. Mom and Dad must have went out and the babysitter told me my brother and sister were in bed. I took the opportunity of change from my clothes into some slacks and a tank top and head to the woods in our backyard. The woods in our backyard lead to a pond about a few yards from here. The woods were to thick for human to go through but now for a wolf. My parents showed me the pond when I first shifted and thats where I usually go to cool off.

I was not like other wolves as I said before, I had a unique ability. I could tap into the mindlinks of other wolves without the need of joining their pack. It let's me listen in to their private conversation whether or not they want me to listen and I could talk to them like a regular link. When my parents and Alpha found out about this, I helped them out with interagation with rouges but they wouldn't allow me to leave the territory, unless with guards. Sucks I know. I guess they wanted to keep me safe from other packs wanting to take advantage of my gift.

Dwelling in my thoughts and memories, time must have flew by cause I was already at the pond. Guess I was more stressed then I thought. I came close and dipped my head into the pond and took a drink. I saw how beatiful my wolf looked in the clear water's reflection. Her white coat, with her paws, ears and tail were completely black and her eyes glowed silver. That only meant that I was a rare breed of wolf. I was at peace.

"Yeah, sure you are," my wolf snorted. "I still can't believe you ran from him."

"Oh give it a break, Jasmine" I snapped back mentally glaring at her. "You know more than I do, that that guy is so wrong for us. It had to be some kind of mistake."

"Fate doesn't make mistakes, honey." Jasmine stated trying to get me to see reason. Like that's going to happen. "And you know he will come looking for us."

"Yeah, well let him try," I shot back. "Fate or not nobodies going to tell us what to do."

After that conversation, we headed back home. I went behind the tree, where I leave my clothes, shifted back and put them on. I walked into our backyard, where my parents were waiting for me, oh boy.

"Well, had a nice run, sweet heart, good?" My father asked and I gave him a nob. "What happened tonight?"

"Did you find your mate?" My mom asked wiggling her I brows, if she only knew. I could tell them what happened but they would freak the heck out and I was in no mood for that tonight. I was way too exhauted.

"No, I didn't," I stated with my best straight face trying to hide the turth. "He wasn't there."

"Are you sure?" My dad double cheeked.

"Positive," I said, I really don't like to lie to my parent it makes me feel icky inside. "Guess I have to keep looking. I'm sorry I made you go through all that trouble, mom."

My mom saw my sadness but not in the way she thought she knew. After that emotional display there, I went up to my room and flop on my bed. I sniffed myself and I smelled pretty bad. I took a shower and brushed my teeth while I was at it. Then I just colapsed on my bed and let sleep took hold of me. I just needed to forget about tonight.

It was morning and I went through the same routine, like every morning. My mom drove me to school, she asked if I was okay from last and I gave her a nod. I really wasn't feel to talk about it. She dropped me off and I started to walk into the school hallway, towards my locker. Something was off though. Where the hell was Kim. I haven't seen her seen late night and could have used her a the moment. I looked everywhere and asked some people where she was, but they told me they hadn't seen here. Then the bitchy duo appeared.

"Hey, Nela," Ashley greeted me and I rolled my eyes. God I hate her, the biggest bitch of the pack along with her was June. "I see Kim's not here. Has she gotten tired of you?"

"Yeah she must have wanted a better friend," June added in. "I think you should find someone new."

"Like I give a fuck what you two think!" I snapped at them both, they flinched but covered up any trace of it quicky. "Why don't you two good fuck each other or better yet get out of my life."

"Wow, looks like someone's woke up and the wrong side of the bed," Ashley walked off laughing with June following, One of these days Ashley will get what's coming to her.

The bell rang for class and their was still no sign of Kim. Just then, my phone received a text and it was from Kim it said:

"Sorry, got things to do, so I won't be coming in. Meet me after school by the field at the parking lot. See you there."

And the was it. What was so important that she couldn't come to school. I couldn't worry about that now I had to get to english lite, but I am so going to have a word when I see her.
