Chapter Eleven : Cover Up

"Because .. She's my daughter and so are you."

I stared at her teary eyed .

"Mom are you okay?" Ba'Mier stood and wiped my fallen tear . I wiped my eyes and took control of my emotions .

The waiter came and gave me the two plates . I paid for my food , picked my son up , and left .

"Wait!" I heard her say after me but I continued walking . I reached my car and sat Ba'Mier in the passenger seat , sitting the plates on the floor .

"Brooklyn please!" She pleaded wholeheartedly .

"I been searching for you for 25 years! I missed you and my baby . I yearned to know where y'all were . I'm sorry Brooklyn . I don't want you to think that I was a bad mother because I wasn't ." She cried . I hate seeing old people cry .

I walked to the drivers side .

"Please give me a chance to explain." She sniffed .

I sighed . I tore a piece off the receipt and gotten a pen out of my glove compartment . I wrote down my number then handed it to her . She seemed relieved and grateful .

"Call me so we can meet and talk." I told her .

"Thank you!" She cried tears of joy . I embraced her and mistakenly cried a few silent tears on her shoulder . I stepped away and went to my car . She happily waved goodbye to Ba'Mier when I started the car .

"You met your mom?" Arielle exclaimed

"I'm not sure yet . I mean to me Brione and her eyes are so similar . It's just a lot to take in." I sighed in my hands .

I came back to the hospital and Bracen was asleep . Hisan and Tavion haven't came back yet .

"That's crazy Brook. How did she find you?"

"I don't know . Maybe it was just a coincidence . She said she been looking for me and Amber for 25 years-"

"25 years!" She exclaimed

"Yea ."

"Do she know about-?"

"No ." My tone sadden . It would be hard to tell her about Amber .

My phone started to ring . It was Cruise .

"Hello?" I answered . Ba'Mier started squirming in my lap . He fell asleep as soon as we made it here .

"Hey Brook! How are you?" I knew he was up to something.

"I'm fine Cruise . What you want?" I got straight to the point .

He chuckles . "Dinner . Tonight at 8 at Garfields . Will you be able to make it?"

"Yea . I'll come."

"Good! See you then." He disconnected the call . I leaned my head on the chair and close my eyes .

"When you're meeting with your mother?" Arielle asks as she place Brione on her chest .
