Chapter Two : Overthinking

"Marion ." She paused .

"I know you didn't want a fancy type of proposal . I thought it'll be perfect if it was just you , me , and the kids." I sniffed . I didn't even know I was shedding a tear until she wiped it away from my cheek .

My nerves are going crazy right now .

"Marion , I love you with all my heart .. but I can't ."

My whole world just crushed right in front of me . At this very hour , I felt my heart being ripped from my chest and thrown out the window . Is she serious ?

"A-are you serious?" I stuttered . She covered her face with her hands , sliding it down her face . She started to mumble something but I didn't understand what she was saying .

"I'm sorry." She stood up and walked away , leaving me heart broken and confused .

"She said no?" Brione asks.

My breathing got caught in my chest . I started to feel light headed .

"Why did she say no?" Ba'Mier asks . I stood up off my knee pressing down on the couch for support .

"She doesn't want to marry us?" Bracen eyes began to water . I mentally slapped myself . I told the kids that a family is not complete without the mom and the dad being together meaning they should be married . If she marries me , she's marrying the kids as well . That means that she fully commits herself to all of us and vice versa .

"Sit here and continue watching the movie." I told them . They all gathered on the couch as I walked down the hall to talk to her . I feel that I deserve an explanation . After everything we been through.  Why wouldn't you want to marry me ? I've been committed and faithful to everything we have and more . Why wouldn't she want to make it official ?

I went into our master bedroom and seen she wasn't there . I instantly heard the shower running . I went inside our bathroom , standing in the doorway waiting on her to come out .

I realized she been in the shower for awhile now . So I knew she was taking a stress reliever type of shower . I pulled myself on the counter , resting my face into my hands . This was really taking a toll over me . I love this girl . I'm in love with this girl .

Finally , the water turned off . I rested my head against the mirror , waiting on her to come out . She pulled back the shower curtain instantly meeting my gaze . She jumped a little . I guess I spooked her .

"You startled me." She said as she grabbed the towel off the hanger and wrapping it around her body .

"Why?" I asked without acknowledging her .

"I just feel like it's not the right time-"

"When is the right time Brooklyn?" I raised my voice a little . "When will the time be right?"

She tighten the towel around her obviously lost for words .

"Is it because you been fucking with that Tavion nigga?!"

"Woah , slow the fuck down!" She furrowed her eyebrows . "He's not the reason for anything . If anything he'll be encouraging me to say yes!" She yelled . She walked out the bathroom . I jumped down and followed her .
