She didn't remember what she told me last night. I'm not sure if thats good or bad. She looked tired and like she was about to breakdown. What happened to the crazy girl I met in middle school? This formal and mature woman stood in front of me, the new Leoah, not the one that loved me for the weirdo I am. Last night when she yelled at me I saw the old her the one that wasn't scared to yell at me or tell me off. Now shes so ladylike and professional. She smiles at me even though I can tell she badly wants to punch me for hurting her.

Flashback:

"Stay the f*** out of my life! If you can't figure what you want then leave me alone!" Leoah had tears in her eyes and she studied my face like she was trying to figure out what I was thinking.

"I don't know what to do....." I looked away unable to handle the way she looked at me.

"If you tell me to stay I will. I love you so much I am willing to stay." She whispered
"Its a hard decision." I lied. I do want her to stay but I don't know.
"Please just tell me." She bit her lip and cried more.
"I think we should just be friends." I knew that I just broke her heart once I said that.
"I'm done trying then." She turned away grabbed her luggage and ran into the limo waiting for her outside my house. She slammed the door and they drove off.

Flashback over

I shook my head and snapped back into reality. She was standing in front of me and she had tears daring to come out of her eyes but she faked a smile and showed me out. I got into my car and drove off. I drove to the school and registered in.

I got to my dorm and unpacked all my stuff. I put my trophies on the back shelf along with my old photos. My box of photos spilled out and scattered across the floor.

I picked them up but one caught my eye. It was the day it was flooding our middle school and Leoah and I kissed under the hallway while the rain fell around us. Everyone was running to parking lots and trying to get cover. The water was mid calf and almost to our knees.

She took a picture of us holding hands and my other hand covering us with my jacket. She faced the camera making weird faces and me laughing. This one though is one of her making duck lips and me staring at her like she was the only one. To me she was until she said she had a chance to move to Hollywood.....

I put the picture in my desk drawer and slammed it shut. I changed into my cleats and shinguards and grabbed my soccer ball. I rushed out to the field.

Everyone was still in their dorms resting from the hangover they have from last night. While they do that on a bright sunny Sunday I'll be out here practicing.

I did some drills and dribbled a little. I was shooting some goals until a short figure in volleyball shorts and a white tank top came out and did laps around the field. Her hair was up and she was on her 2nd lap in the past 5 minutes, and she was jogging. Wow she was fast. I joined her and I noticed it was Leoah.

"Hey." She looked over at me and ran faster ahead. I tried to catch up but she ran faster and I had to catch my breath. She grabbed her water bottle off the bleachers and tried to walk away. I caught her arm and forced her to look at me. I was a head taller than her but that didn't mean she was scared of me. She glared daggers at me and tried to walk away. I held on tighter and she slapped me. I let her go and she stormed away.

"Leoah...." I chased after her and she kept walking.
"Leoah!" I screamed. She didn't turn back yet.
"Leoah!" I yelled. She snapped around causing me to stop in my tracks. She walked up to me and got in tapped her finger against my chest to push me back.
"Stop! Would you! I told you to f*** off in 8th grade. And I still mean it!" She pushed me back again and ran off. I stood there like an idiot until someone threw my ball at my head.

"Ow!" I turned back and saw Sarah glaring at me. She scares me. Well most of Leoahs friends scares me a lot.
"What the hell was that for!" I yelled at her. She marched up to me and slapped me. What is it with girls and slapping me today.
"Why did you let her go?" She asked softly.
"She ran I tried to stop her." I said
"No I mean in 8th grade." She said with a duh tone.
"I dont-" she cut me off.
"No- thats not an excuse. If you told her to stay she would've!" She screamed.
"I didn't want her to give up her future because of me!" I yelled back
"You were her future!" She yelled and covered her mouth once the words escaped from her mouth. She looked down and pulled a blue spiral notebook out of her bag.
"This was Leoahs. She let me keep it so she had one person keep her happiness safe." She handed me the notebook and I flipped through it until I found an X out page. I could barely make out the words.

"That page said that she didn't want to go to Hollywood. She loved living in Chicago. But her mom said she had nothing holding her back there so she had to go. She made a deal with her mom that if you said that you wanted her to stay she would've stayed where she wanted. She had her future planned out to be an author and part of a dance crew. She never wanted to be a famous singer, dancer and actress. She wanted to be a famous novelist and dancer with a soccer husband. Now she can't have that, shes to famous now." Sarah took back the notebook and left me with my thoughts.

She wanted to stay and I could've helped her but I was to scared to hold on to her and so I let her go and now I might never get her back.......
