Danny woke up with a yawn, no ghosts, no worries. He was a bit too happy that he wouldn't have to go ghost. His ghost half was part of him, its what makes him, him. He quickly pulled off the sheets jumping out of bed. He quickly went into the bathroom to take a shower. When he was done he brushed his teeth and changed his clothes. He wore his normal everyday shirt with a red dot in the middle with red rimmed edges, normal jeans and sneakers. He ran through his room searching for anything he may need on the trip. All he could think of was the Fenton Thermos, he picked it up and looked at it for a while. What if he did need it? What if there were monsters or ghosts beyond Amity Park? He clenched it in his hands then shoved it into his backpack. He quickly threw it over his shoulder and held it tight as he ran down the stairs.
"Danny! Are you ready yet?" Jazz yelled from outside.
"Yeah, just, umm give me a second! I need to check something!" He yelled out the door. He quickly ran down the stairs into the lab and stared at the open ghost portal.
"I don't need any of you escaping while im gone..." He said as he quickly went over to the padlock and punched in the code. It beeped and closed, securely shutting itself. He was about to go back upstairs when he got a call. He grabbed his phone out of his pocket and looked at the caller ID. It was Sam, he quickly answered.
"Danny!" He heard two voices, it was both Sam and Tucker.
"Hey guys, i was just locking the ghost portal." Danny said with a smile
"Good, and you made sure it wasn't open sesame this time dude?" Tucker said with a laugh.
"I'm sure you guys, it'll be fine. This is my month off from ever going ghost, and I'm glad" Danny said with confidence.
"But Danny, your ghost half is basically part of you. You've never tried going that long without going ghost or even using your powers." Sam answered back worryingly.
"Don't worry Sam, I'll be fine. Besides, there isn't any ghosts or monsters beyond Amity Park." he chuckled a bit.
"Alright, just make sure you always have the Fenton Thermos on you at all times." Sam said with a reassuring tone.
"I told you Sam, don't worry I'll be fine." Danny said walking up the stairs.
"We will be at your house in a few to say goodbye" Tucker said before hanging up the phone.
Danny quickly put his phone back in his pocket. He rushed outside to see Sam and Tucker barely walking around the corner. Sam ran over to Danny and gave him a big hug. Danny almost fell backwards in surprise but was able to keep his balance. He slowly hugged her back with a small smile. Sam pulled out of the hug and blushed looking off to the side, Danny did the same.
"Come on love birds, we got to help put the rest of their bags in the RV. Especially you dude." Tucker said to Danny
"We are not love birds!" Sam and Danny both said in unison.
"Whatever dudes.." Tucker said rolling his eyes with a smile.
Danny quickly got into the RV when they were done. He sat in the back with Jazz. As they drove off he waved at them with a smile. He was ready for vacation, just not ready to not be able to contact his friends for a month.
"Hey mom, where did you say we were going again?" Jazz had asked.
"We are going to Gravity Falls, Oregon!" She said with excitement.
"That seems interesting, do you know why we decided to go there?" Jazz asked another question.
"It's the biggest Ghost and Monster hot spot in the world!" Jack interrupted Maddie. Maddie gave him a glare before returning her eyes back on the road.
"That's not the reason honey, we are going there to visit family." Maddie said with a smile. Danny's smile suddenly changed, he wasn't happy to go on this vacation anymore.
"Will there really be any ghosts there?" Jazz said worryingly as she saw Danny.
"Don't be silly Jazz, there has never been any ghosts beyond Amity Park." She said with a reassuring tone.
"Right Jack?" She said with a rough voice.
"Yes Maddie..." Jack said disappointed. Maddie turned on their favorite song, Supernatural. They sang along the rest of the way.

It had been hours since they had left Amity Park and they were almost to Gravity Falls. By that time the reception was cut off for the phones. Danny leaned his hand in his palm which was against the arm rest. He sighed, he thought he was going to have a break from ghosts but knowing his dad he never lied. They were finally in a place with lots of trees and forest areas, he then saw a sign that said 'Gravity Falls'. Danny smiled a bit, at least the scenery was nice. He sat up straight and looked out the window, then all of the sudden his ghost sense went off. He looked around, he quickly got up and looked out the back window.
"Danny, what is it?" Jazz whispered as she got up with him.
"I don't know." He replied back. They looked around, finally he had spotted an old car sitting among the trees. He stared for a while and that's when a gigantic hand came out of no where and grabbed it, crushing it to pieces as it pulled the car away. Danny and Jazz gasped, Danny looked at her with dismay. This was going to be the worst vacation of his 14 year old life.
