CHAPTER 2
He is calm and quiet while waiting for his “fiancée-to-be” to arrive. Obviously, his dad is with him while her mom is helping the woman to prepare and he is wondering what is taking them too long. He stood up and scratched his head. “I’m getting bored, wala pa ba sila?”
“Sit-down and be quiet or at this instant I’ll punish you.” His father said in a cold voice that made him shiver. Even though he doesn’t want to, he sat down and waited. “This is not my responsibility in the first place. Dapat si kuya Reign ang nandito ngayon at nag-hihintay.”
“You know that your elder brother is an ungrateful bastard. Kaya nga siya lumayas at ‘di na bumalik. That’s why right now, wala siyang makukuhang mana mula sa amin.”
That’s the main reason he is here right now, the whole Martin’s wealth will be in his hand if he will marry the person they have chosen for him. Two years of miserable life will not be that bad if he has the money.
Then the music began, he saw her mom went out of the room with a woman dress in a very colorful gown and with a veil covering her face. Hindi niya maaninag kung anong itsura ng babae. Pinagdarasal na lang niya na maganda nga talaga ang babae. His mom use to brag about how beautiful she is, pero hindi siya maniniwala kung hindi niya makikita.
He started to bring up the veil, he saw a beautiful smile. Kinakabahan siya pero here it goes…
“Do you really plan of sleeping all day long?” narinig niyang sabi ng isang boses. nainis pa siya ng biglang binato pa siya ng unan.
“Go away, Mateo. I’m tired. Gusto ko pang matulog!” reklamo niya. Pero ang totoong dahilan kung bakit siya naiinis ay dahil sa naudlot niyang panaginip. “and please close the light and the curtain, it’s way too bright!”
“Ano ka, bampira? What’s with this room anyway, every time I go here laging ang dilim dilim.” Reklamo pa nito.
“Wag mo ngang lait laitin ‘tung kwarto ko. Yours is way too weird than mine, idiot! At least hindi mukhang toy store ang kwarto ko. Get out you stupid punk.”
“Now, you’re making fun of my room. Pero you need to get up already. Hindi ba kailangan mong kausapin ang organizer ng prom mamya para sa magiging pwesto natin. You volunteered.” Pangungulit pa rin nito.
Napakamot na lang siya ng ulo. “Fine, fine. Just stop it already!” he stood up, wrap himself with his blanket at pumunta sa kusina. Naglabas lang siya ng isang piraso ng tinapay sa ref at isinara na iyon. “ hanggang kailan mo ba balak na mag-stay dito sa bahay ko?”
“Hanggang matapos ka magbihis. Saka ito umupo ng sofa saka sinindi ang TV para manood.
“Do you know what’s going on with Jay-Z?” tanong nito sa kanya, na labis niyang pinagtataka. Alam niyang nasa personalidad ni Mateo ang maging maaalahanin, pero ang mapansin ang isang bagay na hindi naman napapansin ng iba nilang mga kaibigan ay nakakapagtaka.
“What about him?”
“Loosing his brother in an accident a year ago and Margarette only woke up after a coma for 6 months, is he really OK?” nasa mga mata nito ang pag-aalala.
“Ano bang nangyayari? I’m not noticing anything that is wrong with him.”
“I saw him with people. Hindi ko alam kung anong pinag-uusapan nila, but I think it is something not right.”
He smiled. “Don’t you know? Inaki will be the future boss of a big big group. Almost 85 years na ang grupo nila, and he will be…lemme see…18th boss, I think, and the group he is leading is scattered world wide.”
