The day was long for Joel Heyman because he was thinking about someone. This someone has taken up all of Joel's time since his departure, and that someone was Ray Narvaez Jr. Ever since Ray has left, Joel has been extremely depressed knowing that he won't be able to see his Puerto Rican at least once per day (Even though it had only been a couple of months since Ray had quit). Everyone has noticed Joel's constant state of sadness, but no one knows exactly why.
And the same has been happening to Ray as well. He felt terrible for leaving Joel behind knowing that they wouldn't be able to see each other anymore. And it really broke Ray's heart when he saw Joel's face after he announced his leave at Rooster Teeth. Ray currently sat at his desk at home about to start his play through of "Undertale" when his girlfriend, Tina, walked through the room. Ray didn't even have feelings for Tina, and only dated her to brush off all of the suspicion of him being with Joel.
"Hey Ray", said Tina with a smile on her face, "what would you like for dinner?". Ray paused the game and spun around in his chair, "I'm not really hungry, I'll skip dinner tonight", he expressed with a fake smile. The chat started to comment things like: "What's wrong Ray?" Or "Don't you like Tina's cooking?". Tina looked at her boyfriend with a concerned face, " Are you sure babe, you haven't eaten lately. You're starting to worry me-" "I'm fine!", Ray interrupted while turning back to the live stream. Tina then started to leave, feeling a little hurt, " Ok then Ray, I'll put some in the microwave just in case you change your mind..." " Thanks, I guess.", replied Ray as he put his headphones back on and continued the game. The chat had mixed feelings about the couple's interaction, saying things like: " That was really mean, Ray" and " Ray, what's wrong. You've been acting weird since you left Rooster Teeth".
It had been true, Ray thought to himself as he trudged through the rest of the game. He had noticed his short attitude towards others and it was starting to take a toll on him. Ray didn't realize, though, that he wasn't the only one feeling this way as well.
Because, back at the Rooster Teeth office, Joel had witnessed the whole ordeal of Ray and his girlfriend. And Joel soon noticed that he had been acting towards others the same as Ray had.
And deep down in his heart, Joel felt a bit of pleasure when Ray had been moody towards Tina. Thinking that just maybe, Ray still had feelings for him.
