Louis
"Are you with someone right now?"
"No." The instant the reply left my lips, I regretted it, and wished I could take it back. I couldn't stand lying.
"You don't sound so sure."
"No, I swear." I nodded, even though she wouldn't be able to tell.
"Louis..do you still love me? Because I love you. And I'm not gonna stop." Felicite's soft voice asked through the phone.
Lately, she'd been getting in a lot of trouble at home. She's been getting into fights, and refuses to go to school some days. I've been so worried about her, and when she called me while Harry was gone, I couldn't just ignore her call, no matter how frustrated and angry I was with her for being so rebellious.
"I love you too, babe." I answered, running my fingers through my hair. I don't know what made her think I didn't love her anymore. Of course I did.
"You're lying.."
"No! Of course I love you!" I almost shouted.
"Mum said the same thing right before she shipped me off to live with granny."
"It's not like that!" I pouted.
"Well you'll be coming out soon, right? I'll just talk to you later."
"Okay. Can I see you when I get home?" I asked, hopeful.
There was silence before a happy answer sounded. "Of course, Boobear." I flinched at my nickname but decided to let it go this time.
"Yay! Can't wait, love!" I grinned. "Can't wait to see you. Love you, bye!"
"Bye Lou!"
I hung up and let out a happy laugh before falling onto my back onto the bed. I sat up, about to go see what's keeping Harry when I saw him at the door, tears streaming down his cheeks. It was then that I realized how wrong my conversation sounded from my side. He held breakfast on a tray in his shakey hands. I don't know why I felt guilty, but I was going to tell him.
"Harry, I didn't know you were-"
"Fuck you, Tomlinson!" He shrieked before throwing the tray onto the ground and storming away. His words weren't intending to hurt me, and they were angry. They were just sad and hurt. Totally hurt.
I thought back over the conversation I just had with my sister and gripped my stomach. It sounded like I was cheating on him. My head started pounding and I jumped up from the bed, going to the window and looking out. My heart broke when I saw him sitting on the dock, curled up with his knees to his chest and his shoulders shaking, most likely him crying. I instantly felt so bad.
I put my hand to my forehead and faught back tears as I made my way down the stairs and to the back door. Slowly and quietly, I opened the door and made my way towards him. I approached him and bent down, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Harry, let me explain." I whispered. He turned to me and glared.
"Why should I?" He snapped.
"Because it's not what you think." I sighed. "I know you think I was cheating on you or something, but I wasn't, I swear! It was my sister! She's been going through a lot, and I was just talking to her, I swear."
"How do I know you're not trying to save your ass?" He looked away.
"Because have I ever lied to you?" I asked. Slowly, he turned around and his face softened.
"No.."
"Exactly." I smiled and sat besides him, pulling him into my arms. "I'm sorry I made you think I was cheating on you. I would never do that."
"It's happened before, and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again." He sobbed into my chest.
"Someone's cheated on you before?"
He nodded. "He acted like I was nothing. He told his friends and family that we weren't together, and even made fun of me for being gay. Then he'd turn around and tell me he loved me, and that he'd never hurt me. And then he'd just..toss me around like a rag doll. Like I wasn't even a human. I was a thing. A thing he was ashamed of."
My throat tightened and I held him closer to me, fighting back tears for the second time that morning.
"I'm sorry you had to go through all that." I started rubbing his back as he cried. "But I promise I will be nothing but faithful, loyal, and dedicated to only you. I would NEVER cheat on you. Harry, I love you."
He looked up into my eyes with his piercing green ones and smiled.
"I love you too, Louis." He kissed me just slightly before pulling away. "I should probably go help you with that mess I made in the bedroom."
"Nah, don't worry about it. We'll go get some real clothes on, I'll call the housekeeper, and she'll clean it all up while we go out, alright?"
He nodded and we both stood up, walking hand in hand back up to the house.
Just a short little filler to clear things up. Hope you enjoyed! Back to Harry's POV!
