I was literally bouncing on my heels as I waited outside Starbucks for Louis. I checked the time on my watch for the fifteenth time. Eleven thirty two. He should've been here two minutes ago! Woah, calm down Harry. It's just two minutes. Jesus Christ.
"Harry!" A voice squealed. Before I could turn around, a pair of strong arms wrapped around my waist from behind. The arms let go, and I turned around to face Louis, who had a giant smile on his face. "Sorry. I got excited."
"It's fine." I let out a happily nervous laugh and hugged him. He hugged back and rested his head on my chest for a second before pulling away. I felt my cheeks heat up. "Well come on."
I held the door to Starbucks open for him.
"You think I'm a woman, now?" He jut his hip and snapped. "Uh uh girlfriend. I wear the pants in this relationship."
Relationship..? He thought he was in a...a relationship with..me? Instead of pushing it any further out of fear of running him off, I made a joke.
"Technically, sweats." I chuckled. He wore dark gray sweat pants with a hoodie and a miscellanious T-shirt. Ink just barely showed from where his sleeves hung loose from his wrists. I'd just thrown on a pair of dark jeans and a long sleeve thermal shirt.
"WhatEVER." He rolled his eyes before winking to let me know he was joking. I blushed and let out a little laugh as we walked to an empty table. "So, Styles. How's your day been so far?"
"We on a last name basis already?" I raised an eyebrow and smirked as we sat down. "We only just met yesterday."
"And yet I feel like I've known you forever." I heard him say. My eyes widen and I almost choke on my gum. His eyes bug out and his face turns an attractive shade of red. "I-I, uh.."
"I feel the same way.." I whisper, blushing and glancing quickly up to see his reaction. He looks back at me, blue eyes shining brightly. I watch a smile dance across his lips.
"Harry?" He asked gently.
"Yeah?" I look up.
"Would you wanna..maybe.." My heart stopped beating. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. He was going to ask me out. Oh my god. I'm freaking out.
"Y-yeah?" I swallowed, hands beginning to feel clammy.
There was a long silence where Louis just looked into my eyes, his smile wavering before it was grow bigger, only to falter again. Suddenly he frowned slightly, looking down and away.
"N-nevermind." He played with his thumbs.
Internally, I groaned loud enough for Africa to hear. I know they say to always be careful of who you date, and to know each other for a while before you do, but I felt like I knew Louis, and he knew me. We talked and answered so many of each other's questions. I really did feel like I'd known him forever. I guess it wasn't a wise decision to let someone into my life so quickly. I mean, Austin and I had been just friends for three months before we started dating. I should probably wait.
Plus, what if Louis was going to ask something else? There's a 20/80% chance he's even gay, or even bisexual. I mean, he could be. But at the same time, he could not be. What if I was misinterpreting what he was about to ask? God, I'm so stupid to think like this. Okay, I'll just shut up now.
"What do you want to drink?" He asked, breaking the suddenly uncomfortable silence between us.
"It's on me."
"No!" I stood up quickly, recieving a weird look from him. "I'll get it. What do you like?"
"Caramel iced frappe." He mumbled, playing around on his phone.
Great. Just great. He thought I was a freak now, just like everyone else. I knew it was only a matter of time before he hated me too. I shouldn't have even tried to keep in touch with him. God, I'm so stupid.
I grabbed his drink and turned around. But when I turned, he was gone. He'd just up and disappeared. I knew it. I thought he was different, but I guess I was wrong, like I always am about anyone I ever meet.
Humiliation making my face hot, and with tears stinging the corners of my eyes, threatening to spill over at any second, I threw away both drinks angrily and got the hell out of there as fast as possible.
