The Hunger Games: Skyes story *completed*

Chapter 1

Im in the hunger games, someone is chasing me, they take out their knife and BAM everything is dark. I wake up screaming and Cato comes racing in.
"Skye! It's just a bad dream! Go back to sleep." He says in a soothing tone
My best friend is always there for me no matter what.
"S-someone t-tried k-killing me...I had lost my weapons and y-you so I was defenseless!" I spat out
My name is Skye, I am 16 years old. Today is the reaping. I must put pride to district 2.
I let out a sigh and get up. "Im gonna go get some breakfast..." I head out of my door and walk downstairs to the kitchen.
"So Skye..." Cato says as he takes a bite of an apple "What are you going to do today."
I angrily grab a banana. "Probably go to the reaping! Im going to volunteer this time! I'm tired of being known as the invisible girl. Im going to bring pride to district 2 and NOBODY CAN STOP ME!" I stomp my foot and run upstairs. The reaping starts in an hour so I better get ready. I put my hair up in a ponytail, put on skinny jeans and a black & red striped shirt. I rummage through my closet to find my favorite pair of boots. I find them, put them on, and walk out the door to head to the square. A Peacekeeper walks up to me. "Morning Skye!"
"Morning Peacekeeper Jay! How are you this morning?"
Jay rubs his head. "Very busy...what about you?"
"Same as every year, unhappy, but I have a special surpise during the reaping."
He gives me a blank face and I walk away.
Soon the reaping starts and the Capitol lady comes up to the mic.
"Welcome welcome welcome!"
I roll my eyes and look over at Cato who looks bored.
A few minutes pass by and I am snapped out of my daydream.
"Skye Aishi!" I hear
I look around, shrug, and walk up into the stage. I brush my stick straight hair and look around.
"Now time for the boys!" Shi Tu says
"I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE!" Cato practically screams. He runs up here and embraces me in a hug. Hunger Games or not, we won't be separated. The crowd cheers and you can barely hear Shi over the crowd.
"Happy Hunger Games and may the odds be ever in your favor!" She says and then walks off of the stage.
We are escorted by peacekeepers into the justice building.
The first one to come in is peacekeeper Jay.
"Skye..." He says, looking down at the floor.
"Im sorry..." Is all I can say before he walks out.
Soon I am escorted to the train with Cato. Off to the Capitol we go.
