Eli keeled over on Aka's floor writhing in pain.
Eli was a very special werewolf. He had the ability to control himself when most werewolves couldn't.
He could feel everything in his transformations, the silver fur growing from all over his body, his face elongating into a long muzzle, bones warping and snapping into place, his long fluffy tail growing, even his eye color changing from his normal sapphire blue to a deep forest green.
He opened his rapidly shifting eyes to see that Aka stood in front of him as a magnificent grizzly bear in a defensive stance.
The deep howls were getting closer to the den and he saw the shadow of Aka's mother Novara and her sister Calypso in their bear forms galloping out to defend their home from the rouges that Eli smelled creeping closer and closer.
Eli stood up and took a step towards Aka. She growled at him and he put his ears back and rolled over to expose his belly as a sign of submission.
"I have full control over myself, Aka." He spoke in a gravelly voice from his position on the floor.
Aka allowed him to stand up and they rushed outside to support Novara and Calypso against the rouges.
Then Eli saw them. The first rouge was a easily twice Eli's weight but it was just as short as he was.
The wolf had dense black fur and three jagged claw marks across a pair of red eyes that were full of bloodlust.
The rouges reeked of old clothes and wet moss as they got ever closer to the three grizzlies and the werewolf.
One massive rouge with a reddish pelt stepped in front of the snarling werewolves. His sharp yellow eyes burned into Eli and the bears.
"Good evening Novara." He growled
"Heath." Novara growled back
"I see you have a new companion." Heath mocked while glaring directly at Eli, "shrimp."
Eli shrunk a bit at Heath's gaze but kept his ground.
Aka let out a low growl and glared at Heath
"I see we have a fighter." Heath laughed, "have it your way, bear." He lunged at Aka, teeth bared and clawed hands extended, but she was too quick for him.
Aka leapt out of the way just in time for Heath to leave a small scratch on her ear.
In an instant, the rest of the rouges were on them, gnashing their yellowish fangs and clawing at everything in sight.
Eli had one thought in his mind, keep anyone from hurting my friends. His silver pelt was illuminated by the moonlight filtering through the trees as he roared and seemed to swell up.
Each of the bear shifters were occupied fighting a rouge each and Eli was battling a ferocious brown wolf with bloodied bared teeth and fiery yellow eyes. Eli had managed to claw its left ear off and had left some deep scars in its furry chest. Blood was dripping down the left side of the werewolf's head onto the damp leaves of the forest floor. There was a long claw mark diagonally along Eli's own chest that was staining his pelt red
Eli charged at his attacker and sank his fangs deep into the side of its neck. There was a gurgled sharp yelp and the rouge fell to the ground dead.
Novara grabbed a tawny werewolf by the nape of its neck and threw it against the trunk of a tree.
Its neck was broken on contact
Eli joined Aka and battled through Heath's ragtag group of rouges.
Novara, Aka, Calypso, and Eli grouped together and were backing Heath and a few rouges from his inner circle into a corner.
He let out a small "Eep." And dashed away into the forest before they could catch up to him. His followers ran closely behind him.
