Maddie's POV:

I laced up my Converse, and headed for the street. There, I turned on my boombox, and started improving to the music. I did acro tricks, hip hop, turns, everything. More and more people dropped money in the hat. I kept going. Soon, my watch beeped. I ran to Josh's apartment, dropped off the hat and the boombox, and changed into my work clothes.

I ran to the Culver's and quickly punched in. I worked at the cash register for six long hours, and started walking home. I heard a car behind me, and whistles.

"Hey! She the babe who was dancing in the street!" One voice shouts.

"Oh yeah! The sexy one!" I keep walking, trying to drown out the voices and annoying music booming from the car. Eventually, they stop e car, and get out. I see my chance. I take off at a full sprint. I always was the fastest of the ALDC girls. Now, with the added adrenaline of being scared, I zip through the streets. I hear something, the car. I sprint faster, and then hear gunshots. I duck into an alley. I take a right, and find myself trapped. A dead end. I try to run out, but they are there. One of them shoos the others off. There, I am raped.

I bursted into tears, and ran home. When I got there, Josh was waiting for me.

"Babe, what's wrong? I've been trying to call you."

"J-J-Josh, I w-was walking home, a-a-and these guys were following me, so a ran, a-and then they caught me. J-Josh, one of them r-r-raped me!" I sobbed. He wraps me in a hug, and rocks me. He carries me to bed, and sets me down, tucking me in.

"Stay with me." I croaked. He gets in bed, and wraps his arms around me. I put my head on his chest and sob. There, I fell asleep.

The next afternoon, after staying home with Josh all day, and quitting my job at Culver's, Kenzie called me.

"Boo bear!" I exclaimed, trying to sound happy.

"Mads! What's wrong?!"

"Nothing, just tired."

"Oh, so guess what!"

"What?" I said.

"I'm coming to see you! On Broadway!"

"Yay!" I try to sound happy.

"Aren't you excited? I'm coming in two months!"

"Kenz! I'm so excited!"

"Great! Well, I gotta go. Hugs and kisses!"

"Hugs and kisses!" I said, and hung up.

"You're family still thinks you're on Broadway?" Josh questioned.

"Yeah." I sighed, rubbing my forehead.

"So, what are you gonna do about that?" Josh asked.

"Find a job on Broadway." I said.
