Maddie's POV
I walked into my third audition of the week. I clutched my dance bag, and signed in. I got the number 1313. My lucky number! I pinned it on, hoping that I might actually get this one. I plugged my headphones into my iPhone 5, a gift from my mom. I clicked on RED, by Taylor Swift, and smiled as the album started playing. I took of my jacket, and started stretching. I was cared to death of everything after the one night, but Josh helped my through it. I wasn't as scared anymore.
My mind wondered, thinking about poor, poor Nia. And how I couldn't be there for her. But I couldn't have Kenzie find out my secret, or worse, Abby. Then they called us in, and I took off my sweats, leaving me in the required black leotard with black booties over. I brought my bag with me. They taught us a simple combo. I was glad that I could pick things up easily, thanks to Abby.i got selected for the next stage, along with 15 other people. Only 5 would be selected. We learned a harder combo. I picked it up, and added some pizazz at the end, in the improv part, where I did a contortion trick. I got selected to go to the next round, with 10 others. We all learned a solo, and then, went in one by one to perform. On my turn, I went in, and used the emotions I'd been famous for as a child. I did some more turns, and a contortion trick at the end this time. They sent me out, and soon everyone was called in.
"The people who will be joint our show are 12, 278, 456, 899, and 1313. Congratulations! You start Tuesday, be here at exactly 8:30 am!" The lady said. I almost screamed! I made it! I made it! I won't be a nobody! I might actually have a career! I instantly texted Josh. I pulled on my sweats, and smiled. I took the bus back to the apartment, and screamed with delight.
"I made it!" I screamed, and Josh ran up, and hugged me, spinning me around.
"I knew you could, Mads."
