Coffee had become one of his favorite things since his promotion. Now that he was swamped with paperwork of evidence and arrest reports, Mako had become too familiar with the morning. This one in particular began for him at four. The sky was dark and filled with the storm pouring rain and thunder clapping. He only had a few lights on in their apartment for the sake of safety from lightning. It was something he always did.

He fiddled with his pen as his eyes lazily read through the report. Most of them this time was for teens under the influence or out past curfew. He chuckled at the thought of how they got caught, for he knew they were am matures compared to him and his brother.

And then a chill ran down his spine, from the quick feeling of lips pressing and leaving his left cheek. He turned his head quickly, only to be greeted by the barely lit living room. Well that was certainly odd. The only person who could possibly-no. She was visiting her family. How could she even-another quick kiss was pressed to his right cheek. He turned to it again. Nothing but the window. Now this was starting to frustrate him.

He tensed up a bit with his guard, in case something were to happen again. He glared down at his paperwork, just staring at random words, and then he felt a tap of a finger on his shoulder. He quickly turned to see who exactly had been behind this taunting, only to be given a soft kiss on the lips. As quickly as they came, they left his. And he saw his attacker of kisses.

"Good morning officer.", Korra greeted sweetly.

His white teeth showed through his smile as he pulled her onto his lap and returned her lips the favor. The chair they were in spun slowly as he peppered her kisses.

"Good morning gorgeous.", he said pulling back. "Back so soon?"

"I missed my favorite dork. I thought you might be up.", she said through a grin.

"Yeah, I'm almost done though. How'd you get home in the rain?", he asked.

"Bending comes with many perks. One of them you can create your own full body umbrella out of raindrops.", Korra explained.

"How clever.", Mako said.

She smiled as she inhaled the scent of his expresso.

"Hazelnut?", she asked.

"Your favorite.", he replied with a smirk.

"Missed me?", she asked back.

"As always.", he said as he pulled her closer on his lap. "You want some?"

"Sure.", she replied. But a mischievous grin took over her lips as her ran rose up his smooth chest. "But I like it with a shot of Mako."

"Coming right up.", he grinned back.

He pressed his lips back into hers. The paperwork could wait.
