Mako x Korra - He Knew It

"Where is my mom's necklace?" Korra said following Mako into the kitchen.

"I don't know what your talking about Korra, I didn't touch your stupid necklace," He said try to find some way to have her keep following him, even though he didn't say, he liked having her following him.

"IT'S NOT STUPID!" She said shoving him, almost knocking him over.

The truth was, he did have it, it was in his pocket, but he wanted her to be around him, she had this spark in her that just made him feel so happy when she was around.

It was a feeling he never felt.

"Hey, quit pushing me and go ask Bolin, he probably has it," He said slightly annoyed with the push.

"No I checked his room, I tried to check yours but it was locked," He stopped dead in his tracks, he grabbed her wrist and got straight in her face,

This was not to get that feeling,this was anger.

"Stay out of my room, stay out of my brothers room, stay in your room," He let go and left, God sometimes this girl could really get on his bad side, even without trying.

"Wait, Mako," He turned around to see her with an honest saddening in her eyes,"Sorry, its just really important to me, my mom is at the South Pole and... I miss her OK?" She said on the verge of tears, he had never seen her cry, and he certinly didn't want to start now., he came over and handed her the necklace, she lifted her head to see her face slihtly red and couple tears come down, she really did miss her parents.

She punched him in the arm playfully.

"Ow!" he said rubbing his arm.

"Don't do that again, I don't touch your stuff, you don't touch mine especially this okay?" she said putting it on.

She started crying.

"I gave it back, why are you crying, I won't touch it again!" He said lifting his hands in defense.

"No, no its just.. i miss my parents!" She said now falling onto Mako, he blushed, he didn't know what to do, Korra had never been so emotional, he looked around to see if Bolin was there, must have been at the store, he did the only thing he could do at this moment he hugged her to comfort her, he held her so tight he wasn't sure she was breathing.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know this had so much value Korra," He said resting his head on hers.

"Why did you take it?" she said suddenly getting angry again.

"You really want to know?"

"Yes!"

"Because,I.. uh...you really want to know?" He said not sure how to say it.

"YES!!!"

"Cause I want you to be around me, but i coyuldn't just say'Korra follow me i want to be around you' I knew you would blame me first so i just took it thinking it was just another piece of jewelery, guess not though huh?" he said realizing they were still hugging and broke the space, that didn't please Korra as she drew him back in and went under him, he kissed the top of her head and they stood there for a while.

What they didn't see was Bolin staring from the side and smiling.

"I knew it."
