Part 13

"Please fasten your seat belt; the plane will be landing soon"

The voice was heard over the intercom, which managed to break Sakura out of her musings. And she effectively checked and secured her seatbelt, she also checked her bag to make sure she hadn't misplaced anything.
It wasn't long before the plane landed with a jerk on the runway. As soon as it was told that they could leave their seats, Sakura got up, secured her luggage and got off the plane. It had been a five hour flight and all of her muscles were crammed, so in simple words Sakura was stiff and really tired.
She had finally reached her destination; today she would meet up with her mom, meet with her new family and finally come clean with her mother. She had finally reached the City of Sunagakure or better known as the desert city.
Sakura POV

"Man, its hot here and where is mom? She said she would be here, don't tell me she forgot. How could she forget something so important? I bet she is just sitting in some fancy place with the air conditioning on and sipping some ice-cold drink and sighing in total bliss." Sakura ranted to herself while standing in the waiting area fanning herself.

The people who had gotten off the flight with her had already left and only a few unlucky ones were left standing there in the blistering heat of the sun. And Sakura was one of them.
'The air condition isn't even working here, how the hell does mom live here, how can she work. Why did she have to work here of all places.........................................................Right, of course she is fine here, she spends all her time in a super cold room doing nothing but arranging paper for some stupid businessman who probably is now my stepfather.............' Sakura thought.
"She better show up soon" Sakura said getting frustrated.
30 minutes later
"What the hell is taking her so long, she isn't even picking up her stupid phone, what's the use of having one if you aren't going to answer." Sakura yelled almost throwing her phone but changing her mind at the last second.
She was fuming, the people nearby were keeping a good distance away from her to make sure they don't get in the way of her wrath.

Ring Ring Ri

"Hello" Sakura yelled into the phone.
"Oh hey honey, I just saw your calls, you called me at least 10 times in the past 15 minutes, Is everything okay dear?" Mebuki Haruno said in a cheerful tone.
"That's because I am at the airport and you are not here mother." Sakura said while grinding her teeth.
There was a long pause in which you could almost hear the crickets chirping, when suddenly
"You're here already, I am so sorry honey, I totally forgot that you were coming today, I am sorry." Mebuki said while running around the room putting her shoes on and running out the door. Sakura could almost hear the distinct noises of things being thrown around and the slamming of the door.
"It's fine, just get here already, I am waiting." Sakura said feeling tired suddenly.
"I'll be there in 10 minutes honey, don't you worry or move from there. And if any strangers comes up to you run, run like your life depends on it." Mebuki said going into mother mode.
"Yeah okay, I'll wait, drive carefully" Sakura said back with a sweat drop.
And then the line went dead.

'Let's just hope she doesn't do anything serious on her way here. Sometimes it's hard to believe that she can be so irresponsible and then she can suddenly become all responsible.'

After spending another fifteen minutes waiting Sakura was finally able to get out from under the blistering sun and into the cool interior of her mother's car.
"Sakura baby, I am so sorry, I didn't mean to make you wait so much." Mebuki said as soon as Sakura was in the car.
"Mom, I am fine but seriously next time don't do this, it was really hot out there." Sakura said trying to pacify her mother.
"I know, I guess the truth is that I fear what you might think about me. After all I went and got married to another man and didn't even bother to tell you." Mebuki said suddenly with a sad smile.
"Mom.................." was only what Sakura was able to say before Mebuki started speaking again.
"I know that you still miss your dad and probably think that I am doing something wrong. Believe me when I say this, I love your dad with my whole heart and no matter what nothing and no one can change that. I am not doing this to hurt you, I have just been so lonely all by myself; I just needed to get past this. And I did, don't even for a moment think that I am replacing your father, he will always be here. I know you love him, and it might be a little hard for you to accept a new man into your life but all I ask of you dear is that you give him a chance please. If not for yourself then for me, please." Mebuki said with a few tears.
"Of course mom, don't ever think that I don't want you to be happy. I want you to and if this person does that then I am willing to give him a chance. If you love him so much, then I don't see any reason to stop you from your happiness." Sakura said and hugged her mother feeling a bit tearful as well.
"Thank you darling, I am so happy to hear that" Mebuki said while wiping her tears and starting the car. "Well, let's go you have to meet your new family. The Sabaku's are wonderful people, you'll love them."
"We'll see about that mom, so the Sabaku's, sound pretty fitting if you ask me" Sakura said with a slight laugh.
Mebuki just smiled at her daughter, happy that she was so understanding of her feelings, after she had spent a good few days worrying if Sakura would hate her for marrying someone else after her father.
'I hope that you will get along with them especially him.' Mebuki thought as they drove away from the airport.
