Part 18

Vacations were almost over with a week left, Naruto and Kiba had somehow managed to pass their summer classes by annoying the others into helping them.

"Man, I can't believe that vacation is almost over, I didn't even get to do anything" Naruto complained to the others as they were walking through the streets.
"You were in Summer classes, what did you expect?" Shikamaru stated watching the blond with a raised brow.
"I can't believe Hikaru didn't even call or text me" Naruto continued completely ignoring Shikamaru.
"I am surprised he didn't contact us at all. I asked Hinata san if she knew but she did not." Neji added as well.
"He probably got annoyed after spending time with the dobe." Sasuke inserted his own opinion.
"DON'T CALL ME A DOBE, TEME" Naruto yelled at Sasuke who ignored him.
"You're all so troublesome." Shikamaru added as he watched them all.

"It would be nice if Hikaru could have joined us, it would have had so much fun." Naruto spoke looking completely sad.

"I am sure we will see him next week, classes will start soon." Neji voiced.
"You can tell him ALL about what you did, dobe." Sasuke added emphasizing the all in his statement.

"It would be nice if I could lay down on the ground and enjoy the clouds." Shikamaru interjected.

"I know, how about we go to the beach, we can swim and have fun." Naruto shouted excitedly looking at everyone.
"Hn" Sasuke agreed.
"Hn" Neji nodded.
"Troublesome, why not." Shikamaru spoke lazily.
"We're going to the beach." Naruto yelled fist bumping the air.
"Tomorrow Naruto, we can go to my family private beach." Sasuke added after thinking the idea over. 'I rather know where we go rather than let him decide'
"Uchiha, showing off are you." Neji said with a glower.
"Hn" Sasuke smirked at Neji.

"Great, just what was missing." Shikamaru added with fake excitement. 'Troublesome, why am I stuck with them, I should be home sleeping or cloud watching' Shikamaru thought dejectedly.

The next day

"Beach Beach Beach" Naruto chanted in excitement as he got into Sasuke's black Porsche.
"Dobe, stop chanting." Sasuke gritted through closed teeth as he resisted the urge to kick the blond out of the car.
"Fine, I'll be quiet" Naruto said while pouting.
"Alright, let's move then." Sasuke said as he gave a wave to Shikamaru and Neji in the other car to follow him.

After getting a lazy wave from Shikamaru, Sasuke started his car and moved out with Neji following him from behind as they travelled to the Uchiha's private beach strip.

"Beach Beach Beach" Naruto started huming to himself. 'poor hikaru he won't get to join us at teme no 1 beach, I wonder where he went, he did say something about family stuff and stress, I wonder what that meant........i didn't even get to see Hinata chan, she was so nice to help me last time.....I wonder if teme no 2 got a girlfriend.....nah he's too temeish and Shikamaru is too lazy to bother, he'll probably say something troublesome........I wonder if there will be ramen there' Naruto though absently.

'The Dobe is quiet.... too quiet....... I should enjoy the quiet while it lasts......I can't believe I agreed to this......I wonder if hikaru is okay....we might not be buddy buddy but I would have thought we were friends.....why hasn't he replied to me?....I get the dobe but it would be nice if he talked to me.......he better be okay.....making us worry like that....why am I even worrying about him......tch so annoying' Sasuke thought as he drove getting irritated as his thoughts continued.

Soon enough they reached the Uchiha beach house, getting out of the car, they all moved towards the beach house except Naruto who just stood there looking out to the communal beach where not many people were present. For a moment he thought he saw a flash of a black haired beauty but it disappeared as soon as he blinked.

'Huhh.... must have been my imagination.' Naruto thought as he stood there staring at the beach.

"Dobe, you coming or did you just realized you can't swim." Sasuke said as he smirked at Naruto from the door.
"che....teme that was only one time.....I can swim now....I'll show ya YOU TEME" Naruto shouted effectively breaking out of his thoughts.
"I like to see you try." Sasuke returned with a haughty smirk.
"AHHHH.... I am gonna that wipe that smirk off your face... just you wait." Naruto yelled as he stomped into the house with Sasuke walking behind him with concealed amusement in his eyes.

"What did you say to him to get him all riled up?" Shikamaru questioned.
"It doesn't take much to rile him up." Neji stated from behind.
"Hn" Sasuke just shrugged.

"Let's go to the beach." Naruto shouted as he came out changed into bright orange trunks.
"I never knew there to be such a hideous shade of orange out there." Neji stated with a frustrated sigh.
"Let's just go and change before he blinds us again." Shikamaru toned out quietly.

The boys changed into their own swim trunks and went out to the beach. Sasuke wearing a mixture of black and red trunks, Neji in a combat green while Shikamaru wore plain brown trunks with white borders around the edges.

Shikamaru immediately went off and set himself down on the sand and relaxed whereas Naruto managed to coerce Sasuke and Neji into racing him into the water. In the end Sasuke and Neji ended up competing. Poor Naruto was completely forgotten amidst their rivalry.

"Jerks, why did I bother with them....stupid jerks....who needs them I can have fun on my own." Naruto stomped out of the water childishly.

Shikamaru not wanting to be bothered by anyone, closed his eyes and fell asleep, the blond on seeing that he was asleep already, went and laid down too and watched the people he could see on the communal side. He laid there thinking about the black-haired beauty.
Neji and Sasuke after having literally dived into the ocean, returned to their friends and sat down, feeling utterly tired. It wasn't long before, everyone had fallen asleep, under the sun.

On the other side

"Ah, it's such a nice day to be here at the beach" Ino said as she walked with Hinata and Tenten.
"It has been a while since we came here." Tenten agreed as she shielded her face from the sun. Hinata nodded her head in silent agreement as she looked around, her eyes straying towards the stretch of private land, 'thought I saw something orange there a moment ago', she thought absently.

As the girls continued to walk, finding the perfect spot to make their own. Once they had a spot, they sat a blanket on the ground and a large umbrella to provide shade.

It wasn't long before they were all off into the water, splashing each other and having a swim. Hinata feeling tired, waved to her friends and got out and sat down on the blanket. The other two came out and joined her as well. Laying on the blanket, the girls started talking about their annual sleepover that was going to happen on the coming Friday.
"Do you think Sakura will be here soon? I hardly talked with her this whole vacation." Ino asked, looking at them all.
"I am sure she will be here; Sakura wouldn't miss the sleepover and if by some chance she can't come, she would let us know." Hinata answered in a gentle manner.
"Except she hasn't bothered to call or text us, we hardly know what's going on." Tenten adds with a frown.
Thinking about this, they all get quiet, none having anything to say in defense of their friend. They sit their quietly, each lost in thoughts staring at the water and the day goes on.

After a long hiatus, I am back to writing and will continue to update the story as much as i can.
