"Oh, my, God!"
"Are you okay?" Aidan says as he sees the girl crawl through a hole in the barricade. She had accidently pushed down more than a few things, causing all the banging and clanging sounds they had heard. He reaches his hand out to help the girl through, and her tear streaked face blushes a cherry red. Once she steps up, she brushes her flowing purple blouse off and gets up. Luke springs into action, to the barricade, to seal up the hole that the girl made. He reaches over the tables and chairs, and pulls the door as shut as he can.
"How.." Luke pants. "Did you get in here? That was sealed super tight!"
"I really don't know, I was running away from those things when I saw you through the glass. I decided to take a chance and I pryed open the door easily since someone had left it badly sealed. Anything outside could have done the same, anyways, and pushed those tables down, and..yeah." Aidan stops gripping his weapon as hard as he can, and relaxes a bit.
He licks his lips and asks, "What is it like..you know, out there? Is there anyone left to help us?"
"I, I don't know. All I know is that there is chaos out there and were the lucky ones to still be alive and that we have to survive, no matter what." She bit her lip. "I was out there, with my mom, she was fighting the things, but.." Her eyes started shining with tears. "They took her down..pulling and tearing at her, and she was screaming my name.. But I couldn't do anything about it." She began to sob, her shoulders moving with every set of tears.
"I'm so sorry.." Luke says. He puts his arm around the girl, who has beautiful black hair, and gray-blue eyes. She sobs into his shoulder, and Luke shoots a look at Aidan, who pulls the girl lightly by her arm, getting her to follow him to the store room. Luke stayed behind, making sure the barrier was completely shut, keeping out any strangers. "Whats your name, hun?" Aidan says to the girl.
"Jessica..Jessica Lawson."
"Pretty name." Aidan smiles at her. (A/N: Playeerrr xD) "Why don't we take you to the back..you look tired?"
"Is it...just you guys?" She shifts unconfortably.
"No, its us, and some others." Luke explains, picking up her unconfortable look. "I swear to God, Jessica, were not going to do anything. We want to help you, we're all a team now."
"Okay. Uhm, can we go to the back now? Those things are freaking me out." She glanced at the strangers, who were approaching a stray dog.
"Of course." Aidan says as he heads towards the back of the building. When they reached the store room, Ava came running towards them.
"Oh my God who is she?" Ava screeches as she looks at them in dusgust. "I told you not to let anyone in Luke!"
"Ava, calm down! She's sweet, and she just lost her Mom." He replies silently.
"Haven't we all lost someone, Luke?!" Ava says, not lowering her voice the slightest bit. Jessica looks down at the floor, biting her lip, holding back tears.
"Shut up, Ava! Can't you see what you're doing here!?" Luke yells.
"You're telling me to shut up?" Ava cried. "I am so done with you, Luke! You always are doing what I say not to!" Ava stormed off into the store room.
"Listen, Jessica..this isn't your fault. She's just over reacting." Luke explained to Jessica, who looked like she was about to cry again. "Come on, we'll go get you a spot to sleep for tonight." And with that, Luke lead Jessica away.
~Aidan's Pov~ (A/N: I know, I know, POVs are annoying, but I really needed one for this)
I watched as Luke led off the girl we had found a little while earlier. I looked around, scanning the room for Victoria or Cleo. I caught a whiff of beer coming from the aisles about 20 feet away from the storeroom. I strolled down to where the smell was coming from, and there I found Cleo, sitting on a sleeping bag, her blue tipped hair in front of her face, her hand wrapped around a Coors Light can. "Hey," she slurs. "What happened, Ayedan?" She grins at me and sit a bit closer. "Want some?" She holds up a can. Oh, what the heck, I think. It's the freaking apocalypse, and its not like I haven't gotten drunk before.
"Sure.." I reply, as I sit down next to her. "How many of these have you had?" I grab the can from her, and our hands touch for a split second.
"Oh..uhmm. I dont know, 5?" She says, her head sort of swaying.
"You're so wasted, Cleo." I laugh.
"Why not be? Theres nothing better to do.." Cleo says, scooting towards me. Oh my God, I think to myself. I like Victoria, but I mean, shes really hot..
"Yeahh.." I reply, moving closer to her. The next thing I know, I have drunk 4 cans, its past 1 in the morning, everyone else is still sleeping and I'm making out with Cleo.
And thats when the rest of the night melts away.
