The Help

~Cleo's POV~

I wake up to a girls voice, screaming at me.

"What are you guys doing?" Victoria yells, making my head hurt even more. I try to get up, but I find that I'm stuck in a sleeping bag with Aidan, and all I'm wearing is my tank top and some shorts..Where did those come from?

Aidan rubs his eyes sleepily, and looks at me, a surprised look creeping onto his face. "We were sleeping, it was cold last night." He replies. Victoria peers at us through narrowed eyes, as if she was studying everything we did. "What?" he says.

"I don't know, it just seems weird..you know, you guys sleeping in a sleeping bag..together." Victoria says.

"Ahaha, don't worry, Vic. It's not like I would sleep with her," Aidan laughs, my face turning red.

"I'm not hot enough for you to sleep with me?" I scoff.

Aidan shoots me a deadly stare. "I have a girlfriend.." Aidan says cooly.

"And who is that?" Victoria arches an eyebrow.

"You, Vic." Aidan says, getting out of the sleeping bag. All he is wearing is some boxers, showing off his flat stomach and muscled arms.

Victoria blushes a bright raspberry red, and giggles. "Ohh." She smiles at Aidan, no idea that her 'boyfriend' has been sleeping around. "Well, I'm going to help get some food ready." She kisses Aidan shyly on the cheek.

"What was that about?" I whisper fiercely.

"Dude, calm down, what's wrong?"

"Whats wrong? You just lied to her face about us!"

"Us? There is no us, Cleo! You're hot, I know, but we could never go out.."

"Oh, so you don't like me now? It didnt seem like it last night!" I yell, trying to hold back tears. I really thought he liked me, I really thought he would be the one to save me from this insanity. "You don't understand, do you?" I whisper. "Do you even remember what happened?" Aidan's smirk turns to a frown in seconds.

"Oh, my gosh," Aidan says. "We couldn't have.."

"Yes, Aidan.. We did."

"Cleo," He manages to stutter out. "I am so sorry.." I ignore him, not wanting his fake sympathy. I start to walk away as I hear a soft cry behind me, "Cleo.." I continue walking, and that's when I hear the gunshots. Aidan pushes me to the ground, and whispers fiercely to me.

"Stay here." I nod, and the second he turns around, I bolt to where the kids are, making sure they're okay. They're frightened, but okay. I get them to the very back of the store room, bringing some of the food and water with me. I see the guys and Ava rush by though the small clear opening in the storeroom door. Victoria trails behind them, but she notices me in the small opening. She pushes the door open, and tells me, "Go with them, I'll take care of them." I nod, then run after the others. "What's going on?" I ask Ava as we run to the front of the store. I notice they all have guns, and all I have is a pair of shorts and my tank top.

"I don't know. But it came from outside.."

"Is someone coming to help us?"

"Cleo, I don't know. Now, shut up and take this." She hands me a 9 mm Glock before throwing herself to the ground as another round of automatic gunfire ripples outside. A loud knock on the door startles me and a few shouts from outside follow the knock. After about a minute of us sitting on the ground in fear, the door falls to the floor, the glass shattering. We see men and women march in, clad in army uniforms.

Luke stands up, his gun trained on them. "Who are you?"

"We are the army. You have 15 minutes to gather your belongings, we are taking you to a secure location."

During the next fifteen minutes, Luke interrogates the army, and we scurry around the store, loading up what we can and need onto one of the empty army jeeps. They keep an eye on our surroundings, shooting any strangers that dare come near us.

"Alright, everyone in the truck." Sargeant Jackson says to us. I run back to the check out counters and grab what I really need.

A pregnancy test.
