After about an hour of walking, I finally opened the locked, white front door of our house. I stopped by the kitchen and rummaged through the fridge in search of something to eat, only to find it filled with food that requires cooking. I took out some pamphlets from the kitchen drawer with all the random stuff such as flashlights and lighters and decided on a mozzarella pizza. I went upstairs and changed while waiting. I had gotten a reply from Mason earlier saying he and Carson would be late for dinner. Dad and Coralline had left a note on the fridge that they'd be late as well, which meant I had the house to myself for the night.
I wonder since when did I start disliking being alone. Before it was the best thing that could happen to me, but now it terrified me. Which I knew was stupid.
It was 21:45 when I finished the last slice of the huge family pizza I had ordered. I was in the living room re-watching the first 4 seasons of Voltron on Netflix when my phone beeped. ¨Casablanca¨. I deleted the text from the unknown number and double-checked the doors and windows before heading off to bed. Tomorrow was finally the day.
