The day had come. The day our town had a meeting informing citizens about resent news.
"Not much has happened in the recent months but there is one thing I should inform you about. "
Our mayor seemed to be uncomfortable with the news he was about to state. What's has happened.
He continued to stand there contemplating whether or not he should tell us what was going on.
He cleared his throat.
"The government has decided to let someone from the underground come back up. "
The hall filled with voices. Were they really going to let someone come up? Or were they just doing this as an excuse to kill someone they don't understand.
"We need a family from our town boundaries who would be willing to house this person if our town is chosen."
Were they crazy! They knew well that people didn't want to deal with them. No one would volunteer for this.
"We'll do it."
I look over to see the voice coming from my mother. What was going on in that head of hers.
"Alright it's settled we have a family to represent our town. "
Everyone in the room glared at my mother and I. It was expected. We had just agreed to house someone who wasn't like us.
