My mother and I had arrived back into our small home. We received a pamphlet, that was more like a book, about the people from the underground. It's not like I really needed it, knowing what I was capable of.

It kept running through my mind what it would be like to have someone who was like me living with us. I was anxious to know who this person was and what they were like. So many things about them ran through my mind and I really couldn't stop them. I walked slowly to the bathroom at the end of the hall way.  I slowly opened the door and made sure that mom didn't see me. I was planning on playing around with the water. I wanted to see what else I was capable of. Maybe I would be able to show the person my powers. But would they turn their back on me and tell the government about me?

I had a lot to think about at this point. I really couldn't risk it not now, the only thing is that I didn't belong here anyway.

I didn't even know how I had gotten my powers. It kinda just happened when I was 12.

Flashback ...

I was walking near a stream by our home. It wasn't a very well known seeing as it was just a stream near our house. I frequently take walks there to look at the water and the occasional fish that would swim there. I was so mesmerized by the way the light hit the ripples of the water and would reach out to touch them. It was at that moment that moment that the water reached up my hand. I had always known that there was something I was meant to do. I began walking home with my new found power. I was ecstatic. I couldn't wait to show mother. Wait, I couldn't tell her. I'll tell her later, when the time is right.

------------------------------------------

Thinking back on that day, I slowly turned on the faucet and watch the water go from a small trickle to something like a waterfall. I pulled the plug on the sink and the water began to rise. I reached towards the pool of lukewarm water. I felt the water begin to rise up towards my fingers. The feeling was one that I hadn't felt in a long time.

After messing around for awhile I decided it was time to be done. I quickly cleaned up any mess that there was. Afterwards I walked out of the bathroom.

"You did it again, didn't you 'Kay."

I was caught red handed.

"And so what if I did. This isn't something I can just hide from myself."

I didn't think I could ever be this angry with mother. I turned on my heel and ran out of the house. What was the point of living with someone who wouldn't let you be you? I had to find it. I had to find a way to the underground.
