"Hey Tara, I have a really urgent question for you." Darren says as he sits down at the lunch table, next to me.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Wanna skip next period with me?" he asks.
"What? No!" I said, "I can't skip. I never skipped before. And besides, I have a Spanish test next period. I can't skip that!"
"C'mon. Let's go to Starbucks. I'll pay." he says.
"No. I...we could get in trouble, Darren!" I said.
"It's just one period. Who cares about Spanish." he says.
"I care about Spanish." I said, "I'm not going."
"You can be such a party pooper, Tara." he says.
"Party pooper? Really, Darren? You're so mature." I said, sarcastically.
"Just one period. We'll go to Starbucks together, no one else. We'll sneak out to the parkinglot, borrow Ashton's car, drive to Starbucks, get ourselves some drinks and drive back to school. If there was a Staples' easy button right now, I would press it ten times." he says.
"I can't and to be honest, I don't want to either." I said, "It's...It's too risky."
"Please, Tara." he says with a pout, "For me?"
"No." I said, "And driving Ashton's car?! You don't even have your permit or liscence yet! We'll get in so much trouble!"
"We won't. Unless, Ashton agrees to skip with us and drive us there." he says.
"Darren...you're my bodyguard. Bodyguards don't do these kind of stuff. You're suppose to be a good influence." I said.
"I'm not a good influence. But I'm not a bad one either." he says, "Anyway, please. Skip with me?"
"Skipping next class? I'm in." says Lora.
"Lora, we're not going to skip. We're staying here, preventing trouble." I said.
"Ooh, Tara is Miss Goody Two-Shoes." she says.
"I'm just saying because I don't want to get in trouble." I said.
"Wanna come with us, Lora?" Darren asks her.
"Us? Darren, we're not skipping. I just said that." I said.
"Fine. I'll just drag you then." he says.
"Try and drag me, you'll get punched." I warned.
"Like a girly punch will hurt me." he says.
"Hey, are these two coming along too?" says Ashton, Darren's best friend as he takes a seat beside Darren.
"I'm not." I said.
"Why not?" Ashton asks.
"Because, I don't want to get in trouble. I've never skipped before." I said.
"Even better. We're bringing you with us." he says.
"No!" I said.
"It'll be fun. We're going to Starbucks, I mean, who doesn't love Starbucks?" he says.
"We're going to Starbucks?" Lora asks.
"Si, hermosa niña." he replies.
"Um english, por favor?" she says, confused.
