You walk into your home after a long day of work. You slip your shoes off and leave them in front of the door because you were too lazy to move them. You toss your keys onto the couch as you jump on to it and inhale a long needed breath. You breath out as you shut your eyes. "Babe!", you call out finally. "I'm home!" You sit up when you don't hear a response. "Guess it doesn't matter", you say to yourself as you walk upstairs to use the restroom. As you walk towards the door, you hear a loud gasp and uncontrollable sniffles. "Calum?", you whisper. "Baby?", he answers in a low voice. "I --uh-- I didn't know you were home.", he says sounded as if his nose was stuffed. You walk towards your room, but as you try to open the door it's blocked by something. It's blocked by Calum.
"Cal, let me in."
"Please give me a minute."
"No, I'm not just gonna let you sit in pain by yourself." You push through the door and it slams due to the forced weight of Calum. You slid down onto the floor next to him. "Now, talk." He turns to you and just buries his head into your chest. You grasp onto him tightly with no hesitation. You don't let go. You kiss his head and told him to let it out. When he comes up, his face is a tomato. Eyes are bloodshot red. His face covered in tears and a few tiny pieces of lint from your sweater. You wipe his face with your thumb. Tears form in your eyes because seeing your boyfriend hurt, hurts you.
"Ready to talk now Bud?", you say with a sympathetic smile.
He nods slowly and adjusted his body comfortably. He takes a deep breath so he wouldn't cry again. "Kuma. She died before you came in." He purses his lips. You close your eyes and bite your bottom lip holding in tears. He continues.
"The worst part about it is, it wasn't even natural. She was hit by a---"
He lifts his head to the air and covers his mouth. "She was hit by a fucking car." You turn your head to him.
"Calum, baby, I'm s---"
"Don't apologize.", he cuts you off. "This wasn't your fault. I guess if this was the end of her road, even if it's tragic, I just have to face it." He runs his hand through his hair. He blows out air and wipes his face. You place your hand on his lap with no words and lean on his shoulder. You both sit in silence, until you break the silence.
"She was so great. Remember when we had dinner there and she knocked that cup of red wine on Ash's new shirt." Calum chuckles.
"Then she tried to hide behind Luke because she knew she did wrong.", he added on. You both giggle lightly.
"And remember we fell asleep on the couch and she jumps on and peed on our legs.", he says laughing.
"Now that was gross." You both spend the night reminiscing the great times with Kuma.....(SNS)
