"I got it Babe," said Blake and he gave me my phone.

"Thanks," I said and I answered my phone.

"Hello?"

"Hey Em." It was my brother Evan.

"Hey Ev, what's up?"

"Well, me and Zadie got a phone call from Ruthie and she told me that there was a shooting yesterday at Century Theatre and two of the victims were our parents," he said. I was literally in shock.

"Are they ok?" I asked him.

"They didn't make it. I'm sorry." I was so speechless that I was in a lost for words.

"What time is the funeral?" I asked.

"It's on Friday at 12pm," he said.

"Ok, we'll leave later this afternoon. Thank you."

"You're welcome Em. Bye."

"Bye," I said and then I hung up the phone.

"Who was that?" Blake asked me.

"That was Evan," I said.

"What's wrong?" I broke down into tears and Blake wrapped his big and loving arms around me.

"Our parents died in a shooting last night," I said.

"Oh no. I'm so sorry Baby," he said and we both cried silently together (we didn't want to wake up the kids). Losing my parents was the hardest thing ever. They were always by mine and Evan's side and were always there when we needed them. But now that they're gone, we've lost a huge piece to our family puzzle. Blake wrapped his arms around me and we just embraced each other. He kept whispering soft and comforting words into my ear which made me feel so much better. Still heartbroken, but he made me feel better. Then we kissed each other and went back to sleep. I still had tears in my eyes and Blake wiped them away and wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him.

"It's gonna be ok," he said.

"I know," I said.

"Trust me. It will be Em."

"I trust you Blake."

"Ok Em. I love you."

"I love you too BG Babe." Then we kissed each other "goodnight" and fell asleep.
