" Total Numbness "
In the pitch darkness of night-time
I am consumed with all of the emptiness
As it fills me with total numbness.
Feeling completely numb to all that surrounds me
Swirling in the hollow tornado of emotions,
Mixed completely up and turned all around,
I look hard, searching for just one sound.
My feet, they don't touch the ground,
My thoughts drift, just floating around,
I feel only one thing, Lost!
In the total numbness.
Empty and hollow, I can barely swallow.
Time goes by, drifting and passing right on by.
Out-stretched arms, reaching up to the sky.
I can only stand empty, asking why, why, why?
The numbing affect has crept up on me,
Clouding my wisdom, so I can not see.
Somebody help me.
This isn't supposed to be happening.
Never in all my life, have I felt so dark.
The pitch blackness is new to my heart.
I do not like it here.
I must find my way out.
