                                  " Saving Rose Marie "

She knew her time was up.

She knew she had to go.

She knew she was loved.

And that you didn't really know...

That she was leaving,

And she wouldn't be returning home.

The time had come to say goodbye.

She begged you to walk her outside.

You grabbed your showes and your coat...

And walked her out the front door.

You sensed something wasn't right,

Weren't used to her going out this late at night.

Then you figured it out!

She wasn't coming back, there was no doubt.

Urging her to go back inside,

She resisted and quietly cried.

Begging her to come in with you.

That isn't what she wanted to do.

The next morning you'd find her gone.

She'd been with you so very long,

You just didn't want this to be true.

But it was and there was nothing you could do.

The lonely months that followed...

Left you sad and a bit hallow.

She was gone forever.

Was bit hard to swallow.

Since she left you,

Life has changed so much.

You still miss her in your life.

You still miss her love.

You couldn't have saved her.

You couldn't have known.

You can only be thankful...

That she was your very own.

No way, you won't replace her.

You've made that clear.

You say you're sure.

You say you swear.

It wouldn't be the same.

She was the one I chose that day, you say.

No other could compare.

To chose another, wouldn't be fair.

Saving Rose Marie...

Letting go is hard it seems.

Keeping her memory alive.

You'll always remember her and the good times.

Saving Rose Marie...

Cherishing her memory.

As the years keep passing by.

You allow yourself to cry.

Although I never had the chance to meet her,

Not face to face.

We would have go along, I'm sure.

In my heart she holds a special place.

I'll never forget the walks with you two.

And how you'd invite me to go with you.

You and I...we'd talk.

As you two would walk.

Sometimes just down the street.

You, me and Rose Marie.

Other times down to the store.

Walking, talking and so much more.

Saving Rose Marie...

The best way you can.

I'm so very sorry you see...

She was the BEST anyone could have.
