This will all be in Sabrina's POV unless stated otherwise. There will be swear words and any thoughts will be in italics. Sorry for any misspelled words.
I slowly open my eyes and see the night sky above. I try to move my left hand, but it hurts. I don't know where I am, I try to sit up.
"Woah, take it easy there." A mysterious male voice said. I look towards the voice and let me put this straight. I. See. The. World's. Hottest. Guy. Emphasis on Hottest.
"Who are you?" As I said that, my voiced cracked. Oh my god! I just embarrassed myself in front of a hot guy... Again.
"The name's Jedediah Burgess, but a fine lady like yourself, you can call me Jed. Now stay still, you were involved in an accident."
"Wait, what accident?" I said trying to sit up again.
"You just don't listen, do ya?" Jed says as he comes over to help me sit up. "You were in a car accident. I got to ya before the biters did, so consider yourself lucky."
Yeah lucky me. How much luck do you need after the world ends? After you see your father get eaten? After you lost everyone you cared for? How much fucking luck?
"You call them Biters? Why?"
"Because they bite people that's why."
Good going Sabrina, you just embarrassed yourself again.
"Wait, what were yo-" I get interrupted.
"You ask to many questions! Can't I, at least, ask some?" This kind of took me by surprise.
"Um... Sure..."
"Okay, now I've given you my name, what's yours Sweetcakes?"
"Don't call me Sweetcakes." Now I'm starting to see how much of a flirt (aka fuckboy) this Jed guy is.
Jed throws his hands up, "Okay fine; what's your name female?"
"Really? Female? You got to be kidding me?"
"Oh for the love of food, just tell me your freakin name!"
"Jesus, you don't need to yell." The look in his face was priceless. "My name is Sabrina Ramos. People I like call me 'Brina."
"Okay 'Brina..." Jed starts
"Don't call me 'Brina"
"What! Why not?"
"Maybe I don't like you." I say shrugging my shoulders, but end up wincing in pain.
" I saved your life!"
"Did I have a backpack when you found me?"
"Yeah, but wh-"
"Did you bring it?"
"What?! You're worried about a bag?"
"Did you bring it?" I ask again.
"Yes, yes I did."
"Give it to me."
"No."
"Give me my bag." I start getting angry. Jed goes over to a pile and picks up my bag. He walks over to the edge of the roof (they're on the roof).
"I'll drop it." He says calmly.
"Don't. You. Dare." I said through my clenched teeth. He moves the bag to where he's holding the straps.
"It's your choice. Just let me call you Brina."
"I'm not letting you call me Brina." He lets go of one the straps so now he's holding only one. He's smirking and he has this devious look in his eyes. Boy, does he look hot, I mean his golden brown eyes almost covered by his light brown hair, his face is just so perfect and that's not the only thing that makes him hot... The other thing that makes him hot is the way the wind is blowing through his hair as he stands at the edge of the roof with my bag... With my bag!
"Please just give me my bad please." I'm so done that I'm actually begging him.
"Ya know I hate the word please so much that it makes me sick. So that please is worth nothing." He says grinning like a maniac. I give up.
"Fine." I mutter under my breath.
"What did you say?"
"Fine." I say a little louder.
"I'm sorry I can't hear you."
"FINE!" I shout at him.
"No need to shout Brina." He flashes me a smile and tosses my bag to me.
"Thanks." Adding as much sarcasm as I can.
"You are most certainly welcome Brina." He says as he does his go-to smirk.
"Just... Shut up." I'm done with him. After a moment of silence. "Where were you heading? Like, you know when you saved me?"
"Dunno." Jed shrugs his shoulders as he stares off into the distance.
"That's a load of crap. You weren't just walking around in a neighborhood full of biters for the heck of it?"
"I don't know. I just wanted to save you."
"You know how bad that sounds."
"What do y-... Oh no! Not like that!" He says stumbling over his words. He's cute when he fumbles with his words. "It's my turn to ask a question."
"Go on ahead."
"Do you remember what happened?" He asks as he turns towards me.
"Yes... No... Kinda."
"Well? What do you remember?"
"I was driving and I saw a light coming and then everything went dark."
"Well on the bright side I saved your life."
" Oh well tha-... I gotta ask again. What were you doing in a neighborhood full of biters?"
"Ya know takin a midnight stroll."
"Ha. Ha. Ha. Really funny."
"No I was trying to find my friends, but I'm glad I found you instead."
Did he just say I was better than his friends?!? Omg, first he's hot and now he's saying I'm better than his friends. He's perfect! I smile.
"What?" He says staring at me.
"Hm?"
"You're smiling, why? Is it cuz my hotness makes your sweat sweat?"
"Yes." I say without thinking. He starts laughing.
"Oh my god, you like me!"
"What? No!" No doubt my cheeks are as red as baboon's butts.
"You just said..."
"I didn't say anything!" My cheeks redder than red.
"Yes, you did." Jed says in between his laughing.
"Let's talk about something else."
"Like what... My sexiness?"
"Sur-... No." Jed starts smiling like a crazy man.
"Okay, what then?"
"Oh I don't know... Like where are we?"
"WE are on a roof..."
"I can see that."
"Sh." He continues. "Of a house that I found." He smiles proudly.
"Oh my god..." I'm done with him. "Why the roof?"
"Because I like the view... And the house was full of Biters."
"Well how'd you get up on the roof?"
"As I was carrying you I made it to the top room, but realized we were being followed by biters and... Here we are."
"You... You carried me?" Jed comes over to sit by me. Our arms touching.
"Yep, all three miles of it."
"Three... Miles."
"Yes, Brina, all three miles."
"Why?" Jed turns and looks at me.
" Because I couldn't let someone as beautiful as you die."
"Well, I am beaut-"
"No you aren't. You are beautiful." Jed interrupts me.
"That's what I was going to say..." I look at Jed and he's looking back. He comes in closer... Or is it me who is moving closer to him, that doesn't matter right now. Our lips are so close I can feel his breath. Our lips are getting closer and closer. Suddenly a scream breaks the silence.
