After school me and mom went to the mall. I wore the thickest hoodie I had to if I got caught no one can see my face. But not like I would get caught. I looked around for a pink dressI picked a really nice pink dress for Lidia and went to the change room and clipped off the ink tag and put the dress in my purse. I couldn't wait to show Lidia. The all of a sudden my phone started ringing. It was my brother Alex. "TIFF I NEED THE INK TAG REMOVER ASAP! I'M GONNA GET FIRED!" He screamed. The volume in my phone was on the max so I was startled and dropped the ink tag remover. It hit the floor and cracked. Oh no. "WHAT IS GOING ON OVER THERE! I NEED THE INK TAG REMOVER!" This was going to be difficult. "Hi Alex. Um about the ink tag remover I-" he cute me off. He didn't want to hear a word of what I was saying. "You little pipsqueak. Wait till I get home from work." "Alex but-" He hung up. I was in big trouble now. One of the workers saw me drop the ink tag remover. Double uh oh. "SECURITY!" She screamed. I picked up the ink tag remover and started running! 2 guys started chasing me. I was gonna be in some serious trouble now! I pushed through the crowd desperately trying to get away. The chance went on for 10 minutes. I never went out of breath. Now Evan more people were chasing me. And alarm sounded. All exits were locked. One of the stored were having a sale so there was a huge crowd. This was my chance! I took off my hoodie and put it in my purse. When I got out of the crowd all of the people chasing me ran past me. YES! I got away!
When Alex got home he was not happy. He told mom what happened and she asked me why I needed the Ink Tag remover. "I thought it looked like a cool prop for our play in uh drama." Alex didn't buy my excuse but mom did so I got away with it for now. I gave Alex the cracked ink tag remover and said that it could still work but he'll be de-promoted from manager to cashier. The next morning mom showed me the headline for the newspaper. It said "SWEATER BANDIT." Sweater Bandit? Mom showed me the picture of the bandit and said it looked like me. My body tensed up. "HaHa! Well it couldn't of been you! You were... Dress shopping." I started sweating. "Don't you have that purse?" She asked. "NO LOTS OF PEOPLE HAVE THAT PURSE! WHY WOULD YOU ACCUSE ME OF SUCH A HORRIBLE CRIME!" I screamed. Mom looked at me funny again. "Is everything alright? You can tell me anything." She said softly. I wanted to cry for some reason. I held back the tears. "Everything is fine. I gotta go. I'm going to be late for school." I mumbled. I ran out the door and burst out into tears on the front porch. I couldn't stop crying. Tears just kept flooding out of my eyes. I must have been crying for a long time because when I checked my phone to look at the time and I was 20 minutes late for school. I didn't even care anymore. I trudged down the sidewalk slowly. By the time I arrived I was 40 minutes late. The secretary noticed that I was crying and face me a box of tissues. I took the box and got a late slip. When I saw Lidia in the hallway I burst out crying again. I told her what happened and she said that everything is gonna be ok. She explained that the cameras never saw my face and that I didn't leave any evidence with my finger prints.
I burst out laughing. I couldn't control myself. I collapsed to the floor laughing. Lydia helped me stand up and said that I need to sit down so she got me a chair from the pod. I sat down and opened my bag and gave her the dress. She said I could keep it but I refused to hold it any longer. She took it and said thanks. I felt so weak and nervous. What if someone found out. What would I do?
